Bandits have officially qualified for the finals, well played to Immortal Assassins - despite some in game arguments we have had some fun games. Good luck to whoever our opponents are in the final, it will be tough as both are great clans.

Looks like we finished the comeback!!! LoW has just won the 9th game.
Current score is 9-4 in Legends of War's favor with the following 4 games ongoing

Game 6972039
Game 6972042
Game 6972002
Game 6972005

So it is looking like 10-5 with 2 undecided. though we did reach the 9 mark.

wow, well done to Rep and the gang.

Meanwhile for the Div.2 title TOFU & AoC have agreed to play a 40 game series (I believe that's ok with JPC, yes?) so it can count towards another challenge and is also a bit more substantial and worthy of a final instead of the abbreviated original proposal.

Congrats to BpB on reaching the finals. Gave us a thorough beating in the Dubs (rag & mikies going 7-0), and seeing the overall result, there can be no argument, that they deserved the win.

Our apologies for the Chat going out of control in a couple of games, but frustration got the better of some of our members.

In our defense: After playing a really great season, week for week, for 8+ months (being the only Division 1 clan, that didnĀ“t lose a single one of those 8 game sets), it was a rather disheartening experience to lose the semi finals in a matter of 3 days.

Now, that the dust has settled, we can say: It was great fun to play this season. Thanks to jpcloet, MarVal & everybody involved.

Good luck BpB & LoW in the finals !

O:)

Unlucky mate (though congrats to BpB obviously). I can imagine how frustrating it must be to go a whole season undefeated in the match-ups, only to lose when it comes to the knockout stage. It could yet happen to us in the Div.2 final.

Somehow a league is not a league when you can beat everybody all season and then have one bad run of luck in a knockout phase. Maybe CLA III runs with two divisions, 1st & 2nd, and the winner is the team that sits atop the division at the end. But that's for the powers-that-be to decide.

Season 1 did not have playoffs and was one of the main requests for Season 2. NFL, MLB, NHL, and many more league have playoffs.

No he means (assosiation) football, not american handegg.

And there are some play offs (for promotions etc), just not for division winners and who cares what any other sport does anyway.

Playoffs are unfair end of. Who ever wins most games over the course of the season should win the league imo.

That would be ok if everyone played everyone, but that isn't quite possible unless we did less games.

playoffs are more fun.
problem with classic league system is that teams which loose chance to be first loose interest in the league. Having playoffs usually mean that half the league, or more, fights for playoff spot (or just better spot) till the end. And in the playoffs itself - every game counts as the most important. Granted, sometimes a team that dominate the regular season loose playoff game, but if you are the best, you should win when it matters the most..

see: New England Patriots, 2007 :)

I never said they weren't more fun, just less fair.

Take English championship this year in football, blackpool finised in 6th place, 9 points beind 3 place yet ended up being the third promoted side.

Anyhow jp is right, personally i would like to see all the top clans in the same division, however if this is not feasible with number of games then i guess the playoff system isn't too bad.

Well, AoC have also no losses in all of the match-ups during the season (2 draws I think), so 1 of us will be beaten for the first time of the season ;)

Wow, that I didn't know. Great season for you both, well done. If Fate has her way then you'll get down to a last deciding game - now wouldn't that be something!
