I suppose it depends on whether you are the "I'll do it later" and later never arrives kinda guy, or the one who actually carries out what he said he'll do before the end of the day. If you're the second, you'll get away with playing whatever the hell you want. If she thinks you're leaving everything up to her to do around the house, she's gonna nag your ass til you quit XD.

This reminds me of a funny story. I used to play an MMO and was the leader of a guild there. My Vice leader was quite hilarious, but he did spend too much time on the game anyway hahaha. One night, we're on Ventrillo discussing our next raid on the enemies state when his wife calls. "Honey, can you chop these chillies for me, please?" and he said "In a minute, dear." She was like "NOW! People are coming over, you can talk to your internet friends later." We were all like "HAHAHAHAHA WHIPPED!" He leaves and comes back about 40 minutes later. "Hey guys, I'm back." 2 minutes pass and he is like "Oh oh oh shit shit shit" and we're like "what?" "I just went to the bathroom for a pee after I chopped maybe 50 chillies and I mustn't have washed my hands properly. OH SHIT IT BURNS. AHHHH. Be right back.... shower!" He was in such a hurry to get back to his game that he didn't scrub his hands properly after getting chilli on them, went for a pee and burned his privates. We never left that one down for weeks (well I didn't because we were always pranking each other anyway haha), and from what he foolishly told us, neither did his wife.

This kind of happened to me.. Twice! Lol, the second time is quite horrible cause you wnder how stupid you are not to have learned your lesson from the first time! but even after washing properly your hands some strong chillies stay on your hands and can really hurt!

Haha also to me twice! xD I truly thought I washed them good enough the second time! :P
Those chillies do hurt!

easy, you just keep doing your stuff on CC...

2 options there: 1. she leave you, 2. she accept the fact she has to share you with CC.

i've got number 2. :D and it looks like ChrisPond reached the same! =D>

You are such a liar mate
If CC wants the real story he recruited his wife to BoFM. Good player, fine person :)
I'm supposing she accepted the game after she realized what great people could be found on CC :D

Atm I'm just playing when she's not around. ;-)

Players towards the top of the scoreboard go for clans towards the top of the scoreboard. Basic logic, although boring.

I have difficulty to understand that logic. If I was a player top of the scoreboard I would like some challenge like joining middle ranked clan and help my clan going up.

Being top of the scoreboard playing with a clan already at top, total useless they dont need you they already know sufficient maps and strategy or they wouldn't be at the top.
Plus, you can't consider it as your own achievement if the clan you joined is at the top, since it was already there before you arrived.

When my clan becomes a member of top 10 clan - just couple of years to wait - I'll know it is partly thanks to me.

Would you though? In all honesty. If you were a top player and you knew that the only way to improve your skills as a top player was to play with players of equal caliber, would you turn down that opportunity?

Kort isn't the only top clan, there's a few pretty decent clans out there, so I am not going to say we're the best, that would be a bit meh of me. I'm not a top player and I'll freely admit it (Bruce will kill me because he says I under rate myself - but I feel it's honest), I'm learning as I go along, although, I doubt if you ever stop learning new things in this game. There's a few people in my clan that are truly amazing players and I would love to be that great one day. I think I made the right decision based on the fact that in the past 3 months that I've been here, I've been learning stuff that I wouldn't have otherwise considered. That'll be the difference between being a good player, and a great player.

That Dondellan is why already good players look for a top clan.

Things to consider would be... 1. Communication in team games. 2. Do they want the same things I do? 3. Can I learn from these people? 4. Are they fun to be around?

Each and every person is different and they might find that they don't gel with a particular group. It's not all about scores. ;) Every clan is going to say "we're the best" but there's a personality thing to consider as well.

I think both logics work. Either you go to a top clan and you learn some more and you continue winning; either you go to a mid level clan and you have more merits but 10 times more work. Not to mention that if you reach general, you hate losing and you are score oriented. You can go to a mid level clan with lots of hopes, and then get quickly burned out by the way teammates play if you're not 100% of the time on their back. But why not start your own clan in that case and recruit who you want?
It's not all about gameplay though, also felling comfortable with a group of players, or wanting to join a language oriented clan (VDLL, LHDD, OTP...)

My wife used to hate my CC obsession – until she discovered mumsnet. She’s on the forums there for hours every day now, while I bang around in the kitchen sweeping and washing-up and cleaning clothes. Bah! What goes around comes around.

Yes...he's saying he would...haha. The situation isn't even that hypothetical, as Don is a top player. It's like he's saying he likes chocolate, and you're saying that, no, he does not. I guarantee you that if you ask top players why they chose the clan they did, you will not get the same answer across the board.

I would just leave it at that. Why argue over a matter of personal opinion?

I don't know Don's skills. Didn't mean it like that. I meant via the scoreboard. lol.
Was giving Don a different perspective. Or at least how I'd feel if I was there.

Betiko explained it well

Bwuhahah! And you can't say a damn thing about it. She'll probably lose interest after a while though haha!

You are quite welcome to join my household; you may play CC as much as you like, as long as you do the housework as well... :D

I'm late to the party, but speaking of wives being ok with CC, I went the easy route - I married a gal I met here on CC, thus guaranteeing that she won't yell at me for playing the game! 8)
