Perception of Top 10 Clans [Annually + Longevity]

well maybe Im wrong about voting no, dunno, I just feel like u guys need to wait a bit longer, play more challenges, get up to third or second place, ur a new clan and we won a challenge against 1/3 of tofu already (there are 6 ppl in tofu who are former low members and have played in thota-low challenge), plus there are still other good clans out there we havent played yet and think they shud get a shot b4 tofu does

fact is a few players who lost to thota left their clan, gathered up some new players, doesnt really mather how many, and now they think they deserve a rematch just like that, doesnt feel right to me, and other 2/3 of tofu played only like 100 challenge games so far, think u guys need to do some more work to deserve a challenge, thota doesnt have to say 'yes sure, right away' just bcuz u have great players on the list

To be fair, TOFU is not LOW. And there are a lot of us in TOFU who have yet to steal your points. =) I eagerly await it.

Not quite sure I understand your logic here. Why would you vote "no" to a challenge vs TOFU? Would you vote "yes" to a challenge vs another clan who has not played TSM yet? Are you saying that any potential challenger must face TSM as a prerequisite to facing THOTA?

THOTA is without a doubt the #1 clan right now, followed very closely by TSM. I don't think anyone in TOFU would claim we deserve to be ranked higher. It is reasonable to say a clan would need to beat both TSM and THOTA to be viewed as the #1 clan, but to flat out turn down a challenge from us just makes it look like you are afraid of the outcome. That being said, a challenge of TOFU-THOTA or TOFU-TSM would be a lot of fun and while TOFU would be underdogs in both, I think we could give you guys a run for your money.

look at it this way, we beat goons, monkis, low (1/3 tofu), G1, KOE, regulators and others over last 3 years, who did tofu beat???

My 2 cents: you have a really overgrown sense of fame and pride. I can find at least 1 line in each paragraph from your last 3 posts that characterizes you as "looking down at other clans" person (particular, right now it is TOFU clan).

And it doesn't put you in a winning position even if you are right and THOTA is #1 clan.

We're just 5 now mate (we were 7 with Daryth & thezepman but they have both since retired).

And in fairness to the other guys in the clan, as Knight said, we're really not LoW and should be seen in a completely new light. You'd be surprised how much we share the games between ourselves in all contests, rather than sending out the heavyweights every time, and in this regard all the new faces in the clan deserve as many plaudits and opportunities as their achievements warrant. That said I don't think a TOFU-THOTA challenge is on the cards at any time in the near future (barring a fortuitous run for both clans in the Cup) and in TOFU we've always known this and have been careful not to try and shoot to the stars too soon. Taking challenges against the lesser lights and starting the CLA in Div.2 was the proper thing for us to do. We knew we could fly but we had to earn our wings first

And Nik....I don't think you're looking down on anybody. You guys have a right to be proud of your achievement and a right to protect your position and I'm certain you don't think less of TOFU.

Nik, thanks for your response. I hold THOTA in the highest regard and have considered your players some of the best team players on the site since I first ran into Blitz and BW 2+ years ago. It is hard to question the success your clan has had and there is little doubt it will continue. We at TOFU are not looking for preferential treatment due to having some strong players. We are not asking to jump ahead of others who are in line to play THOTA first. I don't think I have read a post, public or private, from a TOFU member suggesting "we deserve a rematch just like that." If I am mistaken, let me know, but please do not confuse, "we deserve a rematch with THOTA" with, "we would love to face THOTA," the two statements have very different meanings. Every clan here wants to play the best and it is why your challenge sign up thread is enormous. Furthermore, why do we need to get to the #2 or #3 ranking to "deserve" to play THOTA while other clans do not? Saying there are other people in line ahead of us is fair, adding additional requirements for only TOFU seems like you are trying to make excuses to not play us. Maybe I am just misunderstanding the point you are trying to make.

Also, I know Nik doesn't speak for all of THOTA and I know THOTA isn't scared of facing us, I just don't know why we need to jump through extra hoops to "deserve a challenge" with THOTA.

what? wow, I did not realize this, thezepman, I always called him "zepmaster" was a great player, I liked him. Also, as far as daryth, whoa, that is 2 big losses for you guys CoF. daryth, peter, cof, and shatmaster I called him (shatners bassoon) was a deadly quads team and always gave me fits in playing them back in the old days of tourney's. Always a blast and a lot of fun. There is no doubt Tofu is a strong clan with very skilled players based on my experiences with playing against most if not all of them at one time or another, very friendly as well. I hear what BW is saying and by years end we will probably need to play another strong clan in top 3 to 5, but, may need to come after the summer and fall. To validate Nik, I think all he is saying is he would like to see Tofu 1st play IA or Tsm, and if Tofu wins, maybe Thota can play them at some point? Perhaps, I read this wrong. Anyways, sorry for your loss of daryth and zepmaster, tell them I said hello if you see them. We lost andrewb and david_wain. I am still crying. Trying to hide it though.

The interesting thing to me is there isn't a clear-cut title contender, the way there was when LoW and then the Monkis occupied the #2 spot. Any potential clans for that next challenge have flaws: TOFU doesn't have a win over a top-5 clan, the Assassins lost to the Monkis, Empire lost to LoW, etc...
