Since you all seem to think that I am suggesting you would choose a queue for each game, and aren't actually reading the topic to understand the suggestion, I will take Drunkenmonky's lead and drop the conversation.

I think you miss the subject when you only discuss randomness here.

Obvioulsy many people have a problem if random maps don´t include all maps. So .... let´s give this new option a new name. Don´t call it random maps, but find a good new name for a new option which is similar to random maps. (i will leave this task to the native speakers)

I like the idea and it shouldn´t fail because of the definition of the word "random" And please don´t think about medals all day when an interesting suggestion comes up.

I know everyone's different, so I'm not saying you should think this way...but that's what I love about the current random. There is so much opportunity to find a different sort of challenge and in an unexpected way. It's not just variety of maps, but the variety of situations that I love.

And I'm sure a lot of people think like you do, and I too like not knowing what map will show up. Random has brought me to maps I never thought I would play, but I sometimes hesitate to select it because of the mentioned above.

What I don't get is people saying that picking randomly from a pile of 90 maps is not random. I joined a 4 player random game and got Hive. I join an 8 player random game and we get Luxembourg. For those who don't like those odds but still want to be able to not know what map they will get, having each map labeled small or large depending on total regions and giving you the option to select either Full Random (all 180 maps), Small Random (roughly 90 maps), or Large Random (roughly 90 maps) would be a nice addition. I think it would allow for more people to enjoy the fun of random.

As for the Medal issue, it's the easiest fix in the world. For Small/Large random, the (Random) does not appear beside the map name, and those games will not count towards the random medal.

This is another great idea that has no bad side effects for anyone, and yet, people just want to kill the idea because they wouldn't use it.

This all works fine for me. I don't play for medals anyways. :)

As much as I dislike this suggestion (and I really do dislike it), I don't think that's necessarily true. I don't see any reason why the medal couldn't only apply to "the full random", as it were. Just don't have games that use the subset-randoms count toward the medal. I would also STRONGLY suggest that it should not apply to map-ranking random-map games, as well...otherwise, I think you've ruined that capability.
...I prefer a man who will burn the flag and then wrap himself in the Constitution to a man who will burn the Constitution and then wrap himself in the flag.

Exactly. 100% agree with the above statement. The OP's suggestion is one that will only benefit to the enjoyment of the game to some, and not change it to the rest. To me, that's a winning scenario.
