please forgive me, i didn't read ALL of the other posts. (just the first couple). Anyhow, i have to say that i really must dissagree with the "draw" button and/or the "peace" button. The name of the game is Risk and the whole point is to take over the world. Simple as that. Build games are made that way by the players too scared to attack for fear of the dice. If you don't like building games then attack a little more. Take a chance or RISK. like the name says. Although we should all hope and pray for peace in the real world. This game is all about taking over the world not to make peace. It is a board game make to have a winner and one or more losers. Thank you for your time.

i would agree with a draw button if 3 conditions are met:

1. absolute unanimity is necessary (that includes people that were eliminated)
2. no points are exchanged in case of a draw.
3. the game is counted as a loss for everybody. (no points are lost but since the game is not a win it will lower your wining average)

why i want this:

1. without unanimity abuse is easy to do
2. if already eliminated players were to lose points again abuse would be a problem
3. a small incentive for people to avoid getting in such games.

Nearly every 'no spoils' game i have ever played on a medium to large sized map has gone sooooooo many rounds. I dont even join them anymore because after round 100, when the game board looks absolutley no different than it did in round 30, or round 50, or round 75 ................ then a draw option would be nice. Cuz i dont want to be the a$$ who suicides every last soldier just so the game can finally end. But when you are over round 100, sometimes it takes every last bit of will power to not do just that before each and every turn.

This idea started because of newbie deadbeats. Wouldn't a major part of the issue be resolved if the "no points for newbie deadbeats" rule was implemented? Currently on Lack's To-Do list (and has been for most of 3 years).
