NO POINTS FOR BEATING NOOBS !

Postby spyhunter on Fri Apr 25, 2008 8:42 pm

Apparently, the idea of no points being awarding for beating deadbeats is going around.

I think it is great... what do you think? So many Noobs deadbeat, and many players are taking advantage

I think you're a little confused. The suggestion on the "To-Do" list, is to not award points for new recruit DEADBEATS.

What about a percentage thing instead? like if a noob and a lieutenant play and the lieutenant wins, he gets a point, whereas if the noob wins he gets tons...

do you know if that suggestion is:

that you don't get any points if the n00b deadbeats
or
that you don't get any points if the n00b who didn't take any turns whatsoever deadbeats.

So if I'm freemium and I set up 4 2 player sequential games, and the same noob joins every single one and deadbeats, I will have wasted up to 6 days for nothing?

imo it would drive new players away. it would be worse on 4, 6 or 8 player games.

someone wanders in off the street, joins the 1st 4 games on the list and then waits for his turn

and waits

and waits

and waits

eventually their turn comes around but they have given up waiting, never to return.

The course of action to console us for the loss of time due to waiting is just to leave negative feedback when the new recruit deadbeats.

but as they never come back to read it, it is not much of a consolation.

I suggested this a long time ago before measures were taken to prevent n00bs from joining team games. Back then the skilled teams players would make public games with the only ones dumb enough to join were the new recruits and most of those ended up deadbeating and not coming back, thereby giving away points for zero effort on the winners part. I'd still like it to be put into place to prevent point inflation but its not a big deal.
