Neither Troy or Bob works for me anymore. In fact, I have to disable them to even take my turn.

What do I need to do?

Go to the "My Settings" section on the left and disable AJAX, for now.

The confirmation script was absorbed into BOB, when I was redoing my website, I deleted some old files and that was one of them.

Just get BOB.

New Notifier: Conquer Watch (Google Desktop Gadget)

Postby edthemaster on Sun Oct 14, 2007 12:20 pm

Conquer Watch is a new Google Desktop Gadget for tracking your active games. It offers cool features like sorting games by least time remaining (for ready games) and showing you which games have been waiting the longest. It alerts you with desktop alerts that you can configure (to be alerted when ready, eliminated, or even when the round increments). You can even choose to be alerted by a sound, maybe if you're doing something else away from the computer while playing a real-time game, for example.

If you're interested, check out the main posting on the Plugins & Addons main page at http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29597 for download and installation instructions a complete list of features.

As always, any feedback (bug reports, suggestions, etc) is greatly appreciated.

That's exactly what I came back to this forum looking for. Thanks. A couple questions though . . .

First, how do I get it to open with Firfox instead of IE when I click a game?

Second, what is the time thing on my waiting games? e.g. 973876.7.WAITING
31 minutes ago

Third, under the game number can I get it to name the game map, the other players, and tell me whose turn it currently is?

As long as Firefox is your system's default browser, games should open in Firefox. If not, or if you would rather have IE as your default browser and configure Conquer Watch to use Firefox (or maybe Conquer Watch should just attempt to use Firefox by default), then that sounds like something I should add to my to-do list for the next update...

That means that game 973876 either changed to WAITING 31 minutes ago, or switched to round 7 31 minutes ago.

Unfortunately, since the gadget gets all of its information from the RSS feed, I can't get it to show you anymore than what it already displays. I've already posted a suggestion to have more information included in the RSS feed (including all of the things you listed), and lackattack has said he will look into it when he has time.

Thanks for the feedback. I will work on either offering an option to choose what browser you want to use, or to just always have games open in Firefox (since probably 99% of CC-ers use Firefox anyway).

Hey lack,

Can you edit the first post to include (free?) hosting services?

Under where you have Develop Your Own Stuff add these lines:

Image Hosting Services: Photo Bucket or Image Shack

File Hosting Services: File Den or Send Space

If anyone else knows of anything ... please add here

Hey ed, the refresh rate is really sucking. Even if I manually tell it to refresh it is still displaying games as ready to play when I have already taken my turn. Also, sometimes it is not telling me a game is ready when one is ready.

Peregrine, how long is it taking before it shows the correct statuses of your games?

The gadget is set to refresh once every minute, but it can only refresh as often as the RSS feed refreshes. This means that the status of a game shown in the gadget is not always in sync with the actual game status. The RSS feed takes a few minutes to update, so if you just played a turn, that game might not change to WAITING for a few minutes, and so on.

But just to make sure that there is not a problem with the gadget, you can check the status of your games in Conquer Watch against the actual RSS feed for your games at http://www.conquerclub.com/rss.php?username=peregrine. If you click "Refresh Now," and the game statuses don't match the statuses in your RSS feed, then please let me know so I can fix it.

Thanks again for your input,
ed.

This time it's only been about ten minutes or so. When I reloaded the RSS the ConquerTell refreshed. It seems that the RSS is not refreshing timely. So, can I set the RSS in my toolbar to refresh at a faster rate? (I mean to check the site more often to see if the games have been updated on the RSS feed?)

Peregrine, would you please discuss ConquerTell in the ConquerTell topic? This topic is for discussing plugins in general. Thanks.

Aerial Attack, I'll update my post when I have more time :)

I was interested in a pluggin for card analyzing. Like the dice analyzer but this one would be for cards. I feel like I always get double pairs, Im curious what my actual percentages are. I guess the script would count the cards from left to right, if there was allready a set within the first three and you just got a 4th card then it would count as a 3 card set. It would only calculate this after hitting end turn or maybe begin turn.

Is there a script out there that does it? Maybe it could be added to dice analyzer?

I added time remaining to the rss feed.

If you've written a notifier, you may want to take advantage of that
