BOB is not displaying 'missed turns' correctly in one of my games. Blue has missed a turn, but BOB reports his missed turns as 0. I am using version 4.5.3 with firefox 2.0.0.14 in vista.
EDIT: That was on 'Classic', in another game of mine on 'world 2.1' grey has missed two turns but BOB only shows him as missing one turn. Oh, and I have 'full log' on.

BOB only displays consecutive missed turns. If the player has taken a turn after they missed a turn, then the counter gets reset.

I'm using nightly developer tools to disable version checking so I can run greasemoneky cuz its not officially updated for version 3 yet. oh wait. it just came out yesterday. I'll try installing the new version and see if it fixes things

Any news on this one?

All I can say - is that the new GM - (Does your monkey have a quiff?) - supports FF3...

Although FF3 isn't fully released yet - so I won't be upgrading to it until it is - I cannot verify whether or not BOB works with it.

It does not. I have the newest version of GM installed (and it works), but BOB doesn't.

Sorry - I thought BOB did not work with FF3. That was incorrect.

So just to confirm - BOB works with FF3 - once you get the latest version of GM?

I have been using FF3 since beta3 and bob works fine except on RR Europe (I think thats the only one) where it hangs and throws the previously mentioned exception. BOB is actually MUCH snappier on FF3 with the new Javascript engine.

So it fails on just that one map on FF3 - with new Greasemonkey?

C.

PS - yeah I've heard that the new engine is meant to be massively improved.

OK - I've upgraded to FF3 - and have found the problem with this... and have a fix...

It will be released with the next version - however if you want to hotfix it yourself then...

replace (twice)

Code: Select all
         title = title.replace("&",/&/);

with

Code: Select all
         title = title.replace("&","&");

& doesn't need the '/'s round it because it's not a reserved char on it's own apparently...

Weird that FF2 works and FF3 doesn't though!

hambone posted this fix weeks ago and I did mention it was mandatory...

viewtopic.php?f=59&t=46075&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=270#p1356920

& is a special character in Regexps, that's why you need the quotes or /\&/ would have worked also, but
replacing with a regular expression is not for the faint hearted...

If I disable greasemonkey, of course everything works. My buddy (who's not in the game) says it happens to him too, so it may be reproducible by anyone.

This only happens in that game. BOB works great in all my other games.

Thanks!

That game works fine for me I'm afraid...

It looks like this is a Firefox 3 specific bug. Bob worked okay with FF3 Beta 5, but I got the RC1 today and FF3 didn't like greasemonkey, so I switched back to Firefox 2 for CC. I don't get the bug there, so it appears to only happen in FF3.

Thanks,

S

Ah yeah - there are a couple of FF bugs in FF3... RC1... does that mean "Release Candidate"? Hmmm - looks like they've got a bug to fix already then!!

C.

I upgraded to Firefox 3.0 (final) last night and got the "Creating Statistics Table" error.

Was it on a specific map?

Was it on Rail Europe?

Did you read my post 4 posts above yours?

No problems. - expect the new version out sometime next week... -> In fact I've just modified the version that is online...

So for a fix - Click the "Latest Version Installed" button.

This is not a BOB problem, there are problems at the moment on many other pages on the site.
Keep an eye on the General Discussion and also the Bug Reports forums.
