ParadiceCity's "Auto-BOB Off" suggestion, posted in Suggestions & Bug Reports, moved to General Discussion, Q&A and merged with the BOB development thread.

  • Some games have way too many armies on the board and slow computers up a lot because BOB has to load. Have a little check-box or something that, when you say jump to next playable game and one of those games comes up, it will automatically turn off BOB.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Will stop computers from dreadfully slowing down when opening long build games and things of that nature.

You could I suppose put the page's url for the specific game into the exclude list for BOB.

Where do screenshots save? I have been looking, but I can't find them.

Sometimes I check CC on different computers and therefore I sometimes feel I want to merge them together on one.

Thanks for a truly GREAT script!

Sounds like a very old issue that happened if you had older versions of BOB or even tr0y's script installed.

So you might want to check to see if any other scripts are installed too?

Snapshots are saved to the GM storage area that is held in the browser...

If you really want to see the data - then type "about:config" into your address bar - and then filter on "greasemonkey".

I warn you not to change any data in there though.

I don't know if that suggestion has been made before. Please excuse me if that's the case.

I think that statistics would be even more useful than they are now if they can be sorted by the different columns (Armies, Territories, Strength, Last Bonus and Armies Due).

yeti_c,

It's been a while since I poked around in this thread, but I've got a suggestion. :)

Right now, if I have a normal game on a map my numbers line up just fine, but if it's a tournament game I have to use my button over in the Map Options to adjust them because of the header. Which isn't a big deal, except that then if I go back to another game where it isn't a tournament game I have to readjust them all over again for that map. So I'm going back and forth all the time.

Part of the problem is that the vertical adjustment only goes one direction, so sometimes it's just a single pixel adjustment up and all is dandy, but then the next time I have to cycle all the way through. Back and forth, back and forth. Any chance we could have a "vertical UP" and "vertical DOWN" option?

I know that having them line up perfectly for all the maps probably isn't a feasible thing just because of Lack's adjustments with the tournament headers being in-game now, but having the option to go up or down on the vertical adjustment would save a lot of people some time who are moving between tournament and non-tournament games on the same map.

Just a thought. :)

My bob says the following:
Player Last Bonus

r:sr_bob 2008
g:Montague Gubbins 2008
b:YoungM03 2008
y:Septo Man 2008
p:rjgirardi 2008
c:checkmated 2008
o:vtarngpb 2008

Not wanting to distract you from diagnosing BOB's hiccups from the server change today, but....

I agree with Optimus Prime. Usually when I get to a new map, BOB is misaligned by only a couple of pixels, but in precisely the opposite direction from BOBs "Map Align" buttons. Thus I usually have to click about 20 times for horizontal and 20x for vertical to align the map. And if I overshoot by 1 click, it's 24 more clicks to fix it. It would be really nice to have "Map Align Right" and "Map Align Down" buttons too.

I'm running BOB 4.6.3 on FireFox 3.x on Mac OS X 10.5.x.

Thanks again for all your work on BOB. I love it!

1. On the Poker map, when since the background is white, you can't really see BOB's map inspections (on neutral territories). Can you do something about that? Perhaps use a dithered color for neutral territories?

2. This may be better as a separate add on, but since BoB is so many things already... Can you add the option to use a custom map image? It would be pretty cool if people could create their own map and always play on it instead of the stock map. Of course the countries would still need to line up.

The Elimination Summary has a bit of a problem...
2008-10-16 15:25:09 - PoohsTuger eliminated Boss_oss_ss from the game in round - 10
2008-10-16 15:25:09 - Boss_oss_ss loses 22 points in round - 10
2008-10-16 15:25:09 - PoohsTuger gains 22 points in round - 10
Points Totals
PoohsTuger scored NaN points in this game
Boss_oss_ss scored NaN points in this game

Also while im posting can i ask how the strength is calculated??

3. Could you please make the Hide button on the Statistics pane remember when it is pressed, and keep it that way. Otherwise, every time you attack, the continents un-hide.

Hi!
Can you tell me what * or - stands for besides number of territories? For example:
b:millertime13 0 (0) 20 ( 13% ) 11 ( 13% ) - 15.67 3 (3 + 0 + 0) = 3 0
y:satenialynn 0 (0) 31 ( 19% ) 14 ( 17% ) *** 25.67 4 (4 + 0 + 0) = 4 0

What is in that case -, and what is *** ???
Thanks!

This isn't really discussion, but it's been bugging me for a while. Why is the script called BOB? Does it stand for something? Was it named after someone? If so, why is it all capitalized? Was it just a random name? If anyone knows, can you tell me?

Due to the new terminology, "Armies" needs to be changed to "Troops" in the Statistics menu.
