do you have any clue on how to make it compatible?
Hrvat wrote:So, why do we have a Fog of war maps/option, if there is a script that show how many territories opponents have ????
I was under the impression that challenge in Fog of war map is that we are supposed to work out ourselves that info.
If you want your script to print out how many territories everyone has.... why are you playing fog of war????

Fog of way also allows players to keep their total number of armies hidden until it is too late. the reason i made this script was so i knew weather or not to try and kill people off, cause if i messed up it would give the advantage to the other player.
TheScarecrow wrote:but geez as hrvat says this script is turning the Fog of War games into no Fog of War games.
i mean how long would it take until some clever person codes in how many armies players would get given certain territories.
the problem i have with this script is that there is absolutely no error. the human mistakes involved with manually going through the game log are natural and part of any FoW game. Taking this factor out really defeats the purpose of FoW.
why dont i just not bother with Fog of War and just play 'normally'?
i LIKE fog of war because of the added risk of making a wrong move at the wrong time.
TheScarecrow wrote:i have seen a fair number of games where a player has been beaten down to a 3 army / turn scenario and have gone on to win the game. how is this streak of excellent playing going to be POSSIBLE with this noobish script out that defeats the VERY SOUL of FoW?????????
TheScarecrow wrote:oh yeh so you see for example
Hecter 15 territories
TheScarecrow 3 territories
HelenOfTroy 16 territories
and you can see one of my territories... wouldnt that entice you to chase after me? to find if my other two territories were nearby?
if this info wasnt so obviously availbale wouldnt you be more focused on building your armies and nibbling at HelenOfTroy?
if you KNOW what you are doing you DONT NEED this stupid script.
if it told you that then there would be no need for a fog of war style, seeing as one could see through the fog with this script.TheScarecrow wrote:from what ive been able to tell by reading thru what ppl have said about this script it is perfect and error free. the only thing that this script WONT be able to tell you PERFECTLY is where players have continents...
TheScarecrow wrote:i know but to automate this process of going thru the game log?
it kinda disturbs me a little

Well, that is the same for No-Fog games isn't it? It's just about showing the number of territories, which you also can calculate yourself from the game-log. So I don't see any difference with the script for no-Fog games. Of course it should never be the case that you also see the number of armies, because then Fog games would be no fun any more.
