Question about CC's written "unwritten" rules! [Answered]

Postby Gillipig on Mon Jun 29, 2009 8:57 am

This is how it says:

"Unwritten Rules
Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games, intentional deadbeating, serial teammate killing, hijacking accounts, systematically "farming" new members."

What I don't understand is this part: "This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games"
Does that mean that if I practically never join games but throws a lot them, I'm violating the rules :-s ? And can't I intentionally throw games on a map that I'm good at, without breaking the same rule? Must I avoid playing on maps that I'm good at just because other are not  ? It doesn't make any sense to me!
I can't see what could be wrong with consistently throwing your favourite map and settings, if people join you have an EXPERIENCE advantage on them, how can having experience on a map be illegal?

A lot of questions but the two first ones are those that I would like you to focus the most on! :)

If you are discovered to be throwing games deliberately, or to be gaining points from people deliberately throwing games you are likely to be punished. Map choice doesn't really matter, a thrown game is still a thrown game, regardless of the map or settings you are using.

I think you are confused by what the term "thrown game" actually means. It means to lose on purpose.

you seem to be interpreting "throwing" a game as "starting" a game.

the way "throwing" was used meant "to intentionally lose" a game... e.g. giving points to someone by rolling over for them

i think you are using the word "throw" as in "throwing a party". the word in this instance is being used as in; "to intentionally lose a game." i hope that clears it up...-0

You're right guys, I connected throwing with starting, creating and opening instead of words like wasting, losing and "throwing away"! But english is my secondary language so things like this will probably happen again :P , but the good news is that CC isn't controlled by a crazy rule :D !
