Game 4990460
This is not going to be whine festival. I don't drink the stuff, nor like cheese with my liquor. Anyway, has anyone noticed the increased "play for ratings"? I have been in several casual games lately and have noticed how the game play changes when someone's ratings are going to be hit from a low ranking player. The map and game go out the window when this happens. I play a ton of speed games and my ratings change so often that one day I might be a cook, and the next a Sarge. My strategy is not perfect, but I cannot compete against several high ranking players that realize the game is lost and to protect their precious ranks start to suicide the board to take out the lower ranking players. Is that what strategy has come too? Is this site really worth playing casual? I think that only tourneys have been about the game, and the rest of casual games, ratings players can have all to themselves. I am here to do battle. This includes playing the map, the players, the drop, the dice, etc. To focus on only ratings, leaves the fair play of any map in question! Just my thoughts, observations, and opinions, and I am sure someone will leave some smart ass comments about me being a whiner, or a poor strategist, or a complainer, and that is fine, but before you do, I just hope you are not the type of player I am mentioning!
It is a sad day that I have to write this as I have been playing Risk, Axis and Allies, Battle of the Bulge, Nobunaga's Ambition, etc. for almost 3 decades. I am just getting tired of adding foes to the list, I like to keep my options open for gaming, but it is becoming harder and harder to not add some of the same routine players and their tactics!
