Postby n00blet on Sun May 25, 2008 2:09 pm

I don't get it.....at all.
some people have said to start at a camp and go from there, but if you don't start with enough men in a camp then what are you supposed to do?
im very confused by this map....maybe im more of a n00b than i thought lol

I haven't played it much, but since it's so large, I've noticed people using the territories bonus quite effectively.

yes. They're the parts that are on land, rather than at sea.

Yeah actium is messed up, especially if you don't have clicky lol

I'd play speed freestyle (tho you're freemie) since otherwise first player will get huge advantage. Unlimited forts would be lol and try to go for bonuses you have the most of.

try to start with the smaller bonus's and work your way out, or grab many territories

This map is atrociously difficult to play. Yes, the easiest strategy is to get the camps and build out from there, but a just as viable strategy (mostly on No Cards) is to slowly build up a fleet. The only game I've completed on the map I won as I firmly took Arruntius then blocked everyone else from holding any bonuses for more than a turn for the rest of the game. The high amount of territory granting bonuses makes this plausible.

I never use the camps.
I just get a solid base in the ships [normally in the lower right section and work out from there while others fight over the camps.

If you're play 1v1 speed freestyle then as ever it is good to take a bonus in the last minute. In normal games the terit bonus is very bonus and yes, camps are good.
