Prohibition Chicago Strategies

Postby UTAlan on Thu Jul 23, 2009 2:01 pm

I've played this map twice and gotten my rear kicked both times. Any suggestions on how to best play this map?

Thanks!

in 1v1, the bonus for giggle juice trucks is critical. if u go first, then u must break ur opponent's giggle juice bonus if he has 4 trucks already. if ur opponent goes first and starts with 4 trucks from the drop, then u'll find it difficult to win.

Also rely on the utlities to move around the board quickly...police, city hall, etc. Plus there is a bonus if you can manage to hold 4 of them...this is one of the easier bonuses to sneak past people (at least those that don't play it often)

Also, from the mapmaker....
The Canadians Specials are a good small bonus if you can gain them and hold them, but they're usually well fought over for that reason, which is almost exactly what happened in those days. :)

Brilliant map. Don't bother with public utilities as they are incredibly hard to hold. I've also found racketeers a good one if it's foggy, as 3 terits are fairly easy to hold. I second the giggle juice trucks, and what's even better, if you can keep accumulating them you get another bonus for 4 more.

Quite B.S. to play 1v1 at this map. It is all about who goes first, whose first rolls are better, whose drop is better thing. Black Jack.
If you wanna have the real taste of that map, i strongly suggest you to play 5-6-7 players multi player games, or 3v3 games. Those styles with given number of players are very ideal for the map under consideration.

Agreed. 2v2 is unbalanced too. Somebody drops 4 juice trucks. I'm playing trips for the first time on this map, looks much better. Much more balanced play.

team games are good on here

my advice...the utilities and the trucks...
utilities are great to get around the map...also i dont think canadian spec is worth it...its out of the way from the rest of the map...

I kind of agree. In playing the game so far, I found the most players (myself included) don't go for canadian specials as often as one might think. Over to sum up. There are basically 4 bonuses that you play for, either juice trucks, utilities, racketeers or canadian specials. I think which ones partly depends on how many players are in the game, and of course the drop.
