My kid (14) just got over the H1N1 virus. He coughed alot, and generally felt like crap for about a week. Looked like the flu to me. I think everyone is overreacting about it.

The reason we're overreacting: H1N1 + Asthma (or any other lung related illness) = hospitalization.

I spent 2 nights in a hospital on a machine <_< never conscious. Good times. Apparently, I was on a machine 'cause I couldn't breathe by myself.

So why don't they advertise it as such? Instead of telling 100% of the population to freak out because it's the worst epidemic since TB, why don't they say, "if you have asthma, or COPD, or are old and decrepit, or smoke like a chimney, or _____, be very very scared and go get the shot, twice. if not, it's the flu just like any other year."
