Team Point Calculations

Postby scipioafricanus1 on Mon Oct 26, 2009 2:08 pm

So the way I understand it when I play 1vs1 and win I get points based on the difference between my rank/points and my opponents. That way when a cook beats KingHerpes at City Mogul (insert giggle here) said cook gets a lot of points, but when the opposite happens (and I hear it does) KingHerpes doesn't get all that many points.

What about in team games? Say a 3vs3 with mixed ranks?

What if we had a couple of captains and a cook on one team against 3 captains. Assuming the team with the cook wins would the relatively low rating of the cook mean that the 2 winning captains get more points than if there were 3 captains on each team?

If so wouldn't it make sense to play with a good, but low rated player?

Yes. It happens as you say. If you'll notice, many of the nosebleed scores on the scoreboard get higher scores by teaming up with a lowly major or captain who is good but has a lower score.

Very simple answer. The equation used to calculate points is (losers points)/(winners points)*20 and the maximum anyone can lose is 100.

Say you just started and have 1000 points and youp lay King Herpes who is at 4769 right now. If you beat him then you get. (4769/1000)*20 = (4.77)*20 = 95.38 which rounds down so you get 95 points. If he beats you, he gets (1000/4769)*20 = (.21)*20 = 4.19 which rounds down so he gets 4 points. Big difference.

Team games are the exact same thing but it is the sum of the team score. Everyone on the team either loses or wins the same number of points. In that situation it is (sum of losing team)/(sum of winning team)*20.

Standard multiplayer games use the exact same equation but if you win, you win points from every player using that equation and if you lose you only lose points to the winner. Hope this helps
