Trial by combat and bans for rules violations.

Postby scipioafricanus1 on Fri Nov 06, 2009 2:48 pm

Not sure if this is a good idea or not but I have a dream.

Players are being banned or warned left and right (at least it feels that way). There doesn't seem to be any information on why or even much in the way of an appeals process out there.

What if a banned player could elect to undergo trial by combat? The banned player squares off against a champion selected by the moderators in a number of games. If the banned player wins the ban is removed. If the champion wins the ban is doubled.

Thoughts?

so we will just drop the mods off in pleasant grove or east dallas.

Uh...wouldn't that just mean that the best players on the site can do whatever they want to? Doesn't sound like a solid strategy to me.

Mostly in that when we can control things, we should have the integrity to do things the right way.

How so? If it's not a team game, the mods would have to play against each other too, otherwise you could report them for secret diplomacy!

So in the assdoodle, the offender would have a 1/8 chance of winning.
