Prolly just friends - secret diplomacy?

Postby nippersean on Sat Nov 21, 2009 7:30 pm

Has anyone that's looked through the C and A forum noticed how many accusations are put down to "Prolly just friends.?"

It seems to me the onus on them not to join each others games. Not on the inevitable loser of the game to prove that it was not a fair game.

They often get less than a warning. I may add this has never happened to me. But personally i would not consider joining a game with someone I know outside CC.

My point is this.

Who would knowingly join a multi game knowing the opponents are friends / schoolmates / room-mates /go to the same church etc. and if so, what number of players would make you comfortable that you weren't being sided against.

Would it be OK for a 3 player game where the other two were husband / wife? Fog of War? etc.

Please post your thoughts. Particularly which games would you join / not join if you knew all details in advance.

That's already been covered in that C&A thread with married/BFF couple (their names? thiscuteone and rzcpaul or some crap like that). They were merely "noted," but you don't see them playing 3-player games together. They're were deliberately engaging in secret diplomacy though, it was extremely obvious.

I used to play standard games with a good friend of mine, but some people complained about it, so we stopped. It's pretty lame, but that's how it is here. I understand their views, makes sense, but it's---ah, oh well.

I used to play a bunch with my friends, but that really didn't change my play. I think as long as you are responsible, it is fine to play with your friends. It is much more fun that way.

Until someone doesn't like that the fact that one of y'all wins fairly and then someone notices how many games you play together, then the baseless C&A thread is started, and then you can't play together.
