Oooo, that's good...
True words.
So far we've never had to deal with any issues of cheating codes---that is to say, someone maliciously altering the system for personal gains---and I don't think we probably ever will. The more "petty crimes" --- multiple accounts, secret diplomacy, point dumping (on a small or large scale), and the sometimes questioned/despised/lauded strategies of suiciding or targeting specific ranks (to ensure minimal point loss) --- these kind of things seem to be the most accessible, and thus probably the only forms we'll ever have to really deal with.
But if I do get a intensity cube hack, I'll make sure to let everyone know---once I get to the top of the scoreboard.

Andy's response - which is exactly what I would expect from someone who's likely benefitting with more than just the warm fuzzy feeling of being a CC Mod - now seems to indicate that the "disciplinary measure" PM he sent me regarding something I said early on in this thread, was more a result of the topic than my response to an insult directed at me...
First of all, call them what your lawyers tell you to, but they are DICE (not "intensity cubes"); Secondly, you can mock my questioning the use of cheat codes - but the majority of votes indicates I'm far from being the only one who feels screwed when playing a game against players who roll literally nothing but 5's and 6's.
The poll states a valid question that, unfortunately, could adversely affect CC's bottom line; However, the number ONE priority of any business (and YES CC is a business) should be to assure the integrity of the game, including the "intensity cubes", which, based solely on the number of dice-complaint threads that have been buried in the forums, has become a matter of contention for many players.
I - and many others - have gone to freemium as a direct result of the reasons stated above.
In fact, I currently have no active games, which is sad, as I used to be an avid fan and contributor to CC.
The tactic of merging dice-complaint threads should perhaps be under review and a greater focus placed on addressing streaky dice (with actual dice rolling 5 consecutive sixes is a rarity, while here it has become the norm); Also, rather than pretending CC is somehow above potential cheat hacks, maybe additional efforts could be made to assure the playing field is level for all players - rather than infering threads like this are merely the product of sour grapes.

People are not agreeing with you. They're mocking you.

Timminz - don't know what your problem is, but get over yourself. If people were mocking me than why do the majority vote that they believe some players use cheats?
I'd elaborate, but you're really not worth the time. Why don't you go do something else and stop posting immediately after me wherever I post? Get a life.

I'm not sure if people are mocking or agreeing, but from my time in the Foundry I remember the general Foundry community there believing that polls were rarely a good way to actually get the opinion of the Community. It's been a running joke ever since the creation of the Foundry that Polls are more non-sense than not! Just a side note.

Mr Changsha wrote:I played a real game of Risk recently (shock!) and the dice were wonderfully streaky. Four moves in a row the attacker was throwing large numbers (say 50 attackers) and ending 15 down, 20 down, 25 down...the defence was just continuously throwing 5's and 6's again, again and again. We are talking 100 throws here with the attacker maybe taking 3 for every 9-10 lost. Completely changed the game of course.
Now I natually accused spoongod of using 'cheating dice' because, well, isn't that what you do when you lose? Blame the tools...?
maasman wrote:Exactly, whenever I play in real life their is AWAYS one person with ridiculous dice. I won a game once where it was 2v1 after rould one and I still won because I rarely lost a roll. If anything CC dice are TOO random, the streakiness is cut down by the large number of rolls.
I vote for MORE streakiness
