Introduction thread?

Postby Blakesmaster on Sun Nov 29, 2009 1:11 pm

I couldn't find one so I figured I would jump in and start my own. I'm fairly new to Risk, never played online but like the idea of a large competition pool to play against, hopefully there will be guys near my experience level. Other than that, I'm an arborist by trade, play my drums when I get the chance and enjoy quite evenings with my friend Jim Beam.

My main question is about the games. I don't really like the idea of games that take days and days to complete, I'm more of a sit down for a few hours and play a game type of guy. Does this site offer anything like that or am I barking up the wrong tree? I'm also hoping to find a game that is a bit on the ( classic ) side, figure I'll get a handle on that and then start moving to team games and setting up fortresses etc. Thanks to any and all that respond,

Blakes.

Hi Blakes,

First of all welcome to conquerclub...

alright.. most games you see will take a good few days to complete, however if you open up the live chat tab, there are often real time (rt) games to be found, being advertised by fellow CC'ers... ConquerClub also offers a thing called premium membership, this will allow you to play endless amounts of speed games.. speed games have five minute rounds, so games can be started and finished within 10 minutes...

i would definitely recommmend looking into it as it will really improve the fun you can have at the site.. it will set you back $25 for a whole year, and this works out as something like $0.068 per day..

Gl and most of all enjoy :D

Thanks for the reply, I just came across the speed games before I checked back in here. I might get a premium membership but I'd like to hang for a bit and get a feel for the community and games, ya know? I'll see what I can find, thanks JJ.

It seems the normal procedure is to be involved in a few regular games before you're allowed to join speed games. I really just wanted to play risk without the hassle of finding friends, lol. I'll check things out.

I'd recommend joining 1v1 games against players who are not members (they have a silver icon next to their names).

These games generally go by very quickly.
