I'd have to go with the rail maps and classic.

I'm in the process of learning that map and so far it's resulted in 2 losses... :( I'll get it eventually I guess. :D

Trojan War and Skyscraper! are my two favorites.

My second favorites would be Trench Warfare or Death Race 2000

I like Greenland! It's a quick play with infinite possibilities and unending little surprises!

The designer is a total douche* but the map is prob my fav - check my played games, it's pretty much the only one I play.

Circus Maximus is by far my favorite map. However, I now play only RANDOM map.

Love the europe maps...it is always the Napoleonic/WW1 scenario for me.

Love the world maps even more....then it is the WW2/Cold War fantasies.

Quite keen on New World...nothing like a bit of colonising with my morning coffee. Though I seem to suck a bit at it.

Waterloo is actually a fantastic thing. One of the few maps I would bother to really try and play 1 on 1 at. Not ready to really get into that yet, but one day I will.

Feudal is obviously an art in itself. Again, I want to put some work into that form of the game...if someone wants to lead my over-ranked arse at it then pm me.

Beyond that, the rest of the maps have kind of passed me by. There has to be an historical angle I can get my kicks out of, but without all the tedious complexities that a lot of the historical maps seem to have. Then there are various maps like Africa, Canada, British Isles, US maps...but these are all basically the same as classic, and I can't see the point of playing them. I can't exactly get a thrill out of controlling Canada... though it does look nice.

In contrast to Mr C, I enjoy playing classic and variations thereof. British Isles, Classic, Mongol Empire, USA. My map rank kind of gives the message on this.

However, like a screaming, kicking, gunshot wedding groom, I am being dragged to the alter of new maps through having to support the BpBs when the BSS omitted to enter their maps for their home games (but having looked in the C&A forum I understand they have their own internal issues). Lo and behold, I have won 2 from 2, neither map on which I have ever played previously and actually enjoyed them, although it has to be said 'Forbidden City' takes some dealing with.

I still pine for the old 'classic' map and do still miss the kamchatka move of sweeping through alaska down the western seaboard of northern USA into the old South America bonus. Somehow, taking Oldenburg from Ernst and racing down to break the 'Theory' bonus doesn't have quite the same ring about it.

It all depends on what game style I'm playing. My favorite would probably be Holy Roman Empire, I've gone 5 for 5 on that.
