What do you think of it ? account sitter !

i'm playing a team game against 2 majors and a private. The private have an account sitter who's currently 14th on the scoreboard. I'm not complaining because at least he's not missing his turns and have someone to play for him, but, seem a bit unfair ( not unfair but can't find a word in english ) to have a guy who's WAY better than him to take his turns. I repeat this is not whinning but just want to know what the ConquerClubbers think about that ? Thanks in advance !

It is good he found a sitter, assuming he cannot play (vacation, etc). If he is simply having a better player play for him to better the odds, it seems uncool. I guess it depends on the particular circumstances.

it doesnt really matter... a sitter is a sitter, regardless of rank. if anything it just makes the game a little more even...

oh yeah and another thing.. you will find there is not much difference between a good team player ranked major or less and a good team player thats colonel or brig.. ( for some occassions(laddida) this doesnt really apply)

I guess it's me taking some of fswa:s turns you have in mind? First of all I find it funny that you don't want to put our names out but just my position on the scoreboard. As far as I know there's no rule against it unless you abuse it and play for the lower rank all the time. I noticed he had missed some turns so I wanted to help him out. Hopefully he is back soon. If I had''nt writen in gamechat that it was I taking his turn(as you always should) I bet you would'nt even have noticed any difference in gameplay. I'll let you decide if that means he plays like a general or I play like a corpral

1) Not sure why you found it funny him not naming you Draq? The famous Swedish sense of humour perhaps.
2) You have to announce it in game chat.
3) It's a perfectly fair question.
4) Why would the OP not notice the difference? (or does it matter as per his question) Are you saying your rank is luck and that you actually play like a Corporal? Hard to believe - I bet you're better really....

He didn't make an accusation just asked a question.
Obviously this OK as per the rules, and it's better than having missed turns as per the OP

How would you react if two cooks joined one of your dubs games only to find 2 generals sitting for them?
Slight points disadvantage for you.......?

while I have used them in the past I'm not a huge fan of account sitters.

I tend to think that arranging things to not miss turns is part of playing. If you can't do it I fully understand but the penalty is you miss a turn. You probably shouldn't have started the game if you aren't going to be around to play.

I don't have very good computer access on the weekends but instead of getting an account sitter I purposefully allow the number of games I have going to dwindle down to something manageable. I am also careful as to what type of games I get involved in (playing world 2.1 on the iphone is a bee-atch)

3) Sure and I was trying to give an answer to it.
4) It was a pretty simple turn, a corpral or a general would made no difference.

I would have mind if they did it just on a abusive way, would'nt mind them accountsitting for good reasons. Why the agressive tone? Just tried to explain to ben...

Uh, no. Account sitting is allowed per the admins. Some of us go away from the computer sometimes (gasp!). Multis are the #1 no-no on the site. If you're equating those things, then I don't know what to think...

did not want to put the names out since it was just a question i was asking so no need to put the names ( i could have said general if that's what you mean ), but i don't mind maybe i just had a bad week and was wondering ( asking questions ), no need to start a fight over this, like i said in my original post i prefer him having an account sitter than missing his turns.

Because like that was better to get to the point,not everyone knows that Draq is the 14th in the scoreboard...(i don't know why they don't know )

It was a fair question to ask, and obviously asked as much as a conversation maker as anything, not to say it wasnt because it was bens game.

Obviously, it is fine. The only time it wouldn't be would be in the case of sitter abuse, or if it was planned from the beginning.
