Dice rolls

hi guys, probably a stupid question, but in a recent World 2.1 game, a major suggested
"hitting autoroll is asking for bad dice"

as i always use autoroll, and my dice always seem exceptionally bad ... is there any truth to this statement, or does autoroll give the same odds as manually attacking ?

Well, the mathematicians say autoroll results are just the same as individual rolls.
The superstitious say either way it's best to sacrifice a goat before you roll.
More experienced players tend only to use autoroll if they plan on attacking to the last man, no matter what - eg you've got to break a bonus/kill an opponent. Individual rolls give you the chance to change tactics if the dice go bad on you, maybe stop before you've lost everything.
