I am a Canadian living in China and would like to know if possible in the near future I can fly my own flag. If you think this is not a problem I'm telling you it is, try flying a flag from China, N. Korea or Iran and see what happens to you.

The flag that appears on your profile is determined automatically by looking up your IP address in a GeoIP database, it isn't meant to reflect your nationality. Unfortunately there is no way to override your country flag.

Not at the moment, sorry.

I suppose you could edit the location or occupation fields of your profile to say "American living in China" or words to that effect. You could alternatively make a signature/avatar which explains your situation with an American flag if you wanted.

This is surely not a major issue? I can think of only one game in which someone called me a 'fucking chink' or whatever and I can't say it was exactly a spike through the heart. Who cares where someone comes from? Added to that, there are numerous players here not living in their country of origin, so one can hardly think 'Chinese flag = Chinese', which in the case of China actually never means Chinese. I don't think there is one actual mainland Chinese player on CC...but quite a few ex-pats.

So don't worry about it.
