What happened to King Herpes and demonfork?

I remember first signing up and seeing them as unbeatable rank 1 and 2 because they had so much more points than everybody else. I wonder what happened to them, how did King Herpes' score get beatened by rabbiton and how did demonfork fall out of the top 20 so suddenly?

Short answer: The freestyle loophole was closed (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=95367).
I guess it was an important part of their winning percentage.

No, DF's score was at it's highest after that

Bullshit. demon got Conqueror well after it was closed.

They don't care as much anymore.

They're not as bothered. In fact, I think DF is trying to drop a few points (Game 5932476). If either of them played their own game all the time (IE. if Herpes played nothing but City Mogul) I think they could relatively easily get above 5k again.

Hmm...I've often wondered ('cause I am essentially a very sad individual) if that is true. They SAY that they are not bothered, but it is interesting that they became less interested immediately after the double turn change...I remember King_H started to drop within days of the change. Many people have commented on this. Maybe it is just a coincidence...?

KH went through stages of interest and disinterest before a change to fs play.

But wasn't that essentially by beating Herpes a few times close together? If so, that would eliminate the idea that it wasn't a factor.

after the no farming rule and removal of double turning went into effect, high scores dropped dramatically.

He could possibly get above 5k again, no question he is a good player. But the reason he won soooooo many games on City Mogul was the double turn loophole. Without it, he will not be able to get as high a score as he once held.

BUT since he was once over 6k, I don't think it's unreasonable to say he could break 5k without the loophole.

they couldnt keep their scores over 5k if they were to unfoe their competition

After you are at the top for a while you tend to give less of a shit. Once you meet your goals there is not much of a reason to maintain. I'm surprised Herpes has been at the top so long and that apathy didn't set in a long time ago.

well on this subject it could be many reasons... freestyle double-turns did effect it...plus it might have made herpes not care as much..im sure he met his goals so he isnt as much taking it serious that much anymore...he is playing more team games on different maps with different players...could herpes get his score back over 5k? of course he could...probably back over 6k because i remember right after doubleturns ended his score actually went above 6k...last time i checked he only had 11 active games...which means he doesnt really care that much anymore

Huh. I'm just not sure why anyone would be concerned and/or interested in this. At all. If you have played any type of ranked/monitored/long-term competitive game in real life or on line or with your great-aunt-Beatrix you are gonna know that no one, NO ONE can hold a leader board forever... and in most cases it will be hard to hold the top spot for long at all.

Seriously some of you are so blind. There is no such thing as a double turn with speed games. Herpes played tons and tons of these. To make it to point X, whatever X score is. People have to limit game styles / settings. As prism says this gets really old after some time and people just want to have fun and play more settings / styles again. Both of these players could keep their highest scores with or without a double turn and or freestyle fix.

Well, i see them playing maps out of their range of good maps. that is one reason. However, CC mogul is a map where a lot of skill players play, if those skilled players happen to join kh's game, then he will lose a lot, and when he wins, it's usually less than 10 pts.

I actually like KH, but IMO rabbiton is better. (prepares to be flamed...) DF is overrated though. His jacked-up computer got him his high score. Although I do acknowledge that he's only dropping points from carelessness and not lack of skill.

Meh if you think demonfork is overrated you must not be aware of how rabbit got the majority of his points. The only farmer who was worse was max, may he rest in piece.

Prob. won't happen. In fact as soon as I'm done fucking around I will most likely go for high score if for no better reason than to shut the mouths of all of these idiots that think my point drop was due to the elimination of the DT.
