but hey, azezzo is willing to pony up whatever it takes to get this done... i'm sure if you break that down into the few people that want to pay extra for a map that they can then ONLY play against others paying for it, it would only be about 30-50K per person, per year... but hey, it is worth it, and azezzo is willing to pay whatever it takes...-0

(that map has to be legal, otherwise would not exist). merged some regions. Keep some important countries, as japan, germany, mexico. The bigger ones keep it splited, and mantain the Toponymy as real and simple as possible. It doesn't have to be the same gameplay. We just want a map to play this "risk-like" game, where you can attack from regions, dice bassed, with factual continents and countries that exist in real world. I don't see the big issue. Call this map, World 1.0. or Battle of the world or Battle of empires or world 21 century or anything that doesn't resembles anything from hasbro. And that's it..

There are two maps with identical gameplay, which is really what this game is about, not the image behind the numbers in my opinion. Of course, there are some rather beautiful maps out there, don't get me wrong.

although it would be nice if someone wrote a greasemonkey script that would display different names.
It could be anything, as long as you could instantly identify the place from the name.
But if there was to be a change, i would prefer to see the starting deployment gameplay change.
Try playing a real game of RISK with your friends and see how different it is placing your armies vs CC's autodeployment of 3 per territory. The strategy unfolds entirely differently. lol... this is what our confident CC players first discovered when they played at the International RISK Tournament.

I thought it would be nice if someone who was up to date on their Greasemonkey script creating skills could put together a script that could replace this image with some colored shapes on it with the old Classic map. But unfortunately, knowing lack and the other admins, this will not be allowed.slowreactor wrote:Robinette wrote:I'm okay with the current Classic Art map...

Perfect, Perfect, Perfect.
I thought it was took down as a precaution, to lessen the risk that ConquerClub would run into trouble later on. And even if lack has spoken face to face with Hasbro faculty, wouldn't he let his website's community know about it so they can calm down and stop trying to think up solutions to help out his site?owenshooter wrote:kylegraves1 wrote:never know till you talk face to face
how do you know they haven't? do you think classic just vanished on it's own? email the brothers
behind scrabulous, they have a wonderful tale... i'll give you their emails if you want them...-0

Why is this common sense? I do not know this, there is no need to speak negatively about someone else asking a question about a matter they don't know about. And nobody even said anything about lawyers anyways.hwhrhett wrote:lanyards wrote:I thought it was took down as a precaution, to lessen the risk that ConquerClub would run into trouble later on. not if there were lawyers involved, lawyers would demand that the information not be made public.. especially when such a large company as hasbro is involved...
of course this should be common sense...
