I don't know if there's a requirement that they be premium or not, but it does make sense...being a premium member does show SOME commitment to the site. That's a good thing to have in a moderator, I would think.

That would also explain why he hasn't changed it to CC after the whole Hasbro fiasco. That or he's just lazy. Or apathetic/ignorant towards inconsequential things such as.
