Now what I think and others think is this, sometimes you blow our minds out and some of us are thinking we're having an "acid flashback" [not funny to those who'd had them] when reading your obviously misconstrued posts.

I'm sorry but we do have individuals with superior intellects that may be able to decipher this, but I'm not one of those.

Now, please tell me this: Where have you supported your point of view? Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending upon how one looks at these issues, I think the people that know what's going on probably don't need b.k. throwing himself on the proverbial sword to get the point across. I will echo pimdave's comments because I don't want to see b.k. go either. Therefore, I think it's in his best interests (and the forum-goers best interests) to not prod the mods too much. The people who support b.k. (and others like him), supported him before this thread. The people who don't support b.k. (and others like him), did not support him before this thread.

All I can see in my posts that could possibly be considered "trolling" would be disagreeing with your methods of solving problems.

Bk's method, which I am guessing is shared by him and the other members who have been known to cause turbulence in the forums, is to post threads that complain...

Seeing how neither you or other famous banned members like dancing mustard, your method is not working very well is it, bk and stoneham...

My method was to approach the mods directly and use diplomacy.

You wish to excersizE your freedom of speech, but in a site like cc, where admin has complete control of everything, a rebellion isn't going to help anybody, and may actually piss many players off.

I looked at the landgrab forums earlier, and they are surprisingly less rowdy than our forums... They often complain that many posters on this site are immature, and I'm sorry to say this, stoneham, but I'm afraid I have to admit that you are one of the big ones. It is very annoying, and most ofnthe time, nobody has provoked you at all! Ok, this important topic, has now been derailed, and gone off topic.

The topic and discussion is about BK, and his posting his possibility of getting banned.

The discussion started out being about the reasons why he might get banned, and the many ways he might avoid it. BK is a truly unique individual, and has insights that can not easily be reproduced, which is why people have stepped up, and given some ideas.

Unfortunately, others have come in, and changed the topic to be about who is trolling, and derailing the topic, and thereby, have derailed the topic. The same advice given to BK here applies to the rest. Simply discuss the topic, argue the points, and all will be fine. Unfortunately, it seems people have missed this, because instead of countering arguments and ideas they simply resort to attacking the poster himself, and speculating as to motive, and even other posts, which really have no bearing on the topic.

All very interesting to some, Im sure, but dont have much to do with this topic, which is about being permabanned. Im making the assumption that BK is trying to avoid being permabanned, because Im sure he would be creative enough to have achieved that goal already If he wanted to. I suggest, that because it is such an important topic, that those who innocently enough have the desire to help him out, by trolling with accusations of trolling, going off topic with accusations of being off topic, and possibly even flaming, with near accusations of flaming...simply go back on topic. Suggest some reasons BK should not be banned. Perhaps even point out the benefit of having a poster like him here, as I have, and at the very least, not embarrass the poor guy by jumping in to attack any that post in his threads, because whatever the situation and thread, one thing BK does not need is protection, or help.

The guy has more life experience, and real experience than probably all of the posters combined. In some threads he is able to present a view that most, and sometimes all would never have thought of. Without a doubt, many may disagree with those views and posts, but that is kind of the point of the forum. If we wanted to all go pat each other on the back, we could go to a CC retreat or something. In any case, It would be a shame if he was permabanned. On the other hand, there are guidelines, which we all have to follow, to avoid being permabanned, and thats pretty much the only information that is useful here.

So help BK out, get back on topic, stop trolling over irrelevant and outside personal disagreements that dont relate to the thread, and maybe the whole point of the thread, will actually bring some good.

I think I read his entire post. Perhaps you could post the part of it where he is flaming you.
By posting this, you once again are the one trolling, baiting and derailing.

The accusation of him abusing flies is infinitely worse than anything he has to say, and far more of a flame, than his explanation of his posting, and your repetitive accusations of flaming, which simply do not seem to have any substance.

Just quote where he is flaming you. Im sure the flaming was accidental on your part. Im sure you couldnt possibly mean that he is tearing off wings of a fly, which leads to small animals, which sometimes leads to serial killing or other violent crimes. Im sure that is accidental, because no one so devoted flaming would mean that. If there was a post that he mentioned tearing off wings on flies though... I apologize, I missed that.

stoneham, where you have this all mixed up, is the rights part.

Cc is a company, a website, and a comunity. Those make up the three parts of my arguement:

cc is a company: this is lack's buissiness. If he wants to ban you, he will, and you have no "right" to say otherwise. since he obviously does not have the time to watch over the forums, he gets mods to do his dirty work. Therefore, if the mods want to ban somebody, they can and will, an once again you have no right or power to stop them. By signing up, you agreed to their rules, and you should have been fully aware of what their powers are, and what they can do at will.

Cc is a website: this is not a government or a nation. You came here of your own will. If you don't like their methods, than leave, because I am sure team cc would be happy for a complainer to leave.

Cc is a community: it is a group of people. You need to treat everybody with respect. Ideally, this means no flaming, trolling, spamming, etc. But we can't get rid of it. The only way we can fight the fire is by attempting to show respect and kindness, not using the fire itself.

Now, you have the power to complain, but do you really think that has gotten us anywhere on this site? I hve not seen many changes because somebody complained.

I have already stated that revolt I'd impossible on a website.

sinc, some of us have been here for years, we have invested time and effort in the site. Not just in our games, but in the site. We have helped build this fabled community. Understand that and you'll have come a long way already.

Most mods have at least been members on the site for some time, though several of them hardly ever set a foot in the fora before or after becoming a mod, at least not so I would've noticed them, but then there are the youngster members who think they have a clue what they're talking about. When you've been part of a community almost since day one and helped make it what it is you don't appreciate it when, metaphorically speaking, some snot-nosed brat who's still wet behind the ears comes and tries to tell you what you must accept lying down and how you may or may not behave in the community you helped form.

bk has often pissed me off with some of his backward views, he's rude and confrontational and doesn't bathe nearly often enough. But I'd rather have him than any number of bland non-individuals who're compulsively polite and go out of their way not to offend an other poster in any way whatsoever or defeatists who will accept anything because "it's a private business, accept it or leave" and won't even try to change things for the better and decry those who do as "complainers" and "whiners".* Especially the latter group, can they even be properly called part of the community if they don't give a damn about it?


Try to see things from the other side for a change. ok?

Long before I left, I had tried the diplomacy route; if that had worked, I wouldn't have left. The only tactic I had not tried is expressing in these forums, what my concerns were. Friends who are aware of my concerns, and aware that a growing number of other individuals had similar concerns, convinced me to return, in part to express those concerns in the public forums, and help a few others who have similar concerns while I'm at it.

I disagree with the idea of using flames to express concerns, as bk, stoneham, and a few others are aware; but I disagree that any expression of concern (i.e. complaint) is in itself either a bait or a flame; while many accurate expressions of concern (i.e. complaints) are often fodder for others to bait and flame.
