as you can see, some slipped below 2K and some got above it, so it changes.

Right, so heres the deal on that formula: The scoreboard rank automatically compares you to active members only (people who have taken a turn with in last 30 days). Dividing the joined date rank by 8 compares you to active users only, so that was calculated correctly.

But by multiplying the post rank by 16 I was comparing it to all registered CC users (not correct). But I also don't want to compare all users who have ever made a post, since several thousand have made 1 or 2 posts. Just like the scoreboard drops users who have 4 games or less, I am going to drop all users with 4 posts or less, and this also should be dropped from joined date to that have less than 5 posts, since they were never active forum contributors nor game contribtors. (5 posts is still not very active, but its better! Getting rid of the 1 and 2 post people is the main concern).

There are 4263 users with 5 posts or more, and 21063 active users on the scoreboard. 21963/4263 ~ 5, so the post rank will be multiplied by 5.

The final formula: (Scoreboard rank) + (Total posts rank)*5 + (Joined date rank)/8 = Triathlon rank.

I'll do the calculations in excel and post the results here....including Fircoal's because you do stand a decent shot.

Blitz: If you were first on the scoreboard and first in total posts, you'd end up with 1872. It's going to take time, not more posts, for you to be top 5. Either some of the people ahead of you will have to leave, or many more people will have to join the site because your longevity is the weakness. Unfortunately thats the one that can only be changed by waiting a long time.

You can't just subtract 3000 inactive members. Dividing by 8 is what compensates for all the inactive members since the people remaining on the site is about 1/8 of the total number registered. You find your joined date by clicking on your profile, and it will be the last number in the webadress that is displayed up top. Divide that by 8 and you have your adjusted joined date rank.

If theres a better way to consider only active members in that category let me know....but I don't think there is with the info available.

I mean if you are not counting posters that post only 4 times or less, and you not counting people off the scoreboard cause they missing over 30 days, then how bout joined date who have not played a game or posted in last YEAR????? This is more than fair! I mean at least 85 of the 1st 100 on page 1 and 2 of joined members either never played, never posted or has never player or posted in over a year. and most of those 85 it was back in Jan 2006 and many none at all. here is the list and this is just 1st and 2nd page of 1st 100 joined and 85 need to be subtracted from this alone. ready?

Blitz, you are making this way too hard. There are almost 15,000 people who joined before you....I know you are dedicated to making these lists, but I seriously doubt you are going to go through 15,000 names to determine whether they are active or not.

I already told you how the compensation works: The scoreboard considers only active players. There are roughly 1/5 as many active posters as players so thats why the "post rank" is multiplied by 5. And there are roughly 8 times as many total members as active members which is why the joined date rank is divided by 8. Over time there will be more total members compared to active members, and then you will do better in this category, and I know thats the only reason you are so excited about searching through a list of 15,000 names.

I will do page 3 and 4 later.

You're on page #298. If you are really concerned enough to go through 298 pages and make a list of the people who have played or posted in the last year, then go ahead. But to do that you're going to have to click on 15,000 different profiles and check when their last game was.

The total members is easy to find....go to the last member on the list: 176331

Active members are those on the scoreboard: 21638

Divide those and you get 8.15. So if you want I can change the factor from 8 to 8.15 since I'm doing it in excel (however it is not 10 or 12 since I calculated it instead of just guessing )
