I actually think the map I created is one of the best - and I think that's substantiated by the number of plays it gets... So, to hell with false modesty. I spent quite a few hundred hours making it!

Here are my 3 and the reasons I like them so much.

1) Age of Realms 3
2) Poker Club
3) Arms Race

Age of Realms 3: This map is quite good, the bonuses and other game play are quite creative and it solves much of the turn 2 steamroller that exists in AoR 1. The number of territories seems perfect for 8 player and team games. And the visual appeal of the map is very good.

Poker Club: This map is a great example of how you can take the game play of a war game and drop it into completely unique situations. The cards are laid out quite well and bonuses are both complicated and easy to understand if you play poker. The map is also quite a pleasure to look at.

Arms Race: This map has some unique gameplay. The split map makes assassin games quite interesting, especially when your target ends up on the other side. I have won on this map only a few times and find it quite challenging.

Honorable Mention

4) New World
5) Duck and Cover

New World: The map is quite easy to understand and play doesn't usually bog down. The possibility of getting knocked out before taking your second turn is the only thing that keeps it out of my top 3.

Duck and Cover: This is my favorite map visually. The style of the map is fantastic and quite evocative of the cold war. It drops from my top 3 based on the number of territories seeming a bit low to me. But that is just my personal opinion.

BTW: Great Thread =)

Is there? I would like to see the maps ranked by most played of all time. I don't think Map Rank GL does this, as you need player info. Anyone know of a way to do this?
