$25. what for? wait your not tellin me prem is now $25!!??
Here is a range of other costs:
MSN Games: Free "trials" .. limited play, require you to view advertisements.
$9,95 will buy you 1 game, no alterations/upgrades, etc.
$6.95 a month will allow you to buy 1 game a month, with a year's commitment.
Some games offer prizes, but have not pursued that.
Yahoo -- roughly same as MSN, roughly same games offered. Each will vary periodically.
ItsYourturn.com -- various common "board" games -- checkers, chess, Jamble (like Scrabble), etc. Some variations of each.
Free -- you can take 15 turns, play 1 tournament, 1 ladder (a few more complications, but that's the basics). Have adverstisements on site.
Paid -- from 10.95 for 3 months. 17.95 for 6 months, 29.95 for a year. New special 54.95 for 2 years. Allows you to play up to 200 games, no ads, more ladders and tournaments, members only ladders and tournaments.
eRepublik -- a truly FREE game (though you can spend money on "gold" if you wish), but fairly limited. More of a social site, with political and economic game playing. Some war, but it is in the context of politics and economics. Many CC members have joined. (see thread in turtle soup forum or pm me if interested).
Those are the BEST bargains I have found to date. Many "free" games wound up messing with my computer. If anyone else has possibilities, speak up.
All-in-all I would say CC is a pretty good bargain.
