i need to put my 2 cents in. first I gave him the prem. membership.

And, i think i am a good judge of people. I think he has a right to his opinion as does everyone else here @ CC.

I gave him the prem. because i respect him and, I think like many here, def. a good guy. like alot of you who blow alot of hot air & are pussy cats deep inside.

He loves this game as do all people who have been given prem. this was one of the prerequisites.

I personally think frustration with the scoring system & the egging on makes for a bad situation.

First of all Mandalorian, I was taught to play RISK with any means necessary...if you wanted to waste money bribing someone you could, if you wanted to make a secret alliance you could, just like the real world. It is not a moral issue at all, it is how we learned to play the game. & I really enjoyed the dugcarr vs Blitz rivalry, I was never rooting for anybody, but it brings life to this site because all the other high ranked players seem to be friends. There is never any real competition besides dug vs Blitz

He's not being escorted nicely out because he didn't like the place, he's being thrown out because he first violated the spirit of fair play that is supposed to govern this site and then deliberately set out to do as much damage to the site as he could. Thank you sammy for posting this communication from Dug.

I confess I read it (not always an easy proposition with Dug's prose) with that same simultaneous attraction and repulsion that one has at the scene of a traffic accident. Forgive me, but I just couldn't not look.

I don't think I learned anything new from this message. Well, one thing new, I've never been called tinnywinny before and I have to confess that had me on the floor laughing. I will miss something about Dug, he does have the gift of humor (I'm not sure it's all intentional, but it's still a gift).

To get back to the facts of the case:

First, it still sounds like the ranting of a griefer. He seems hell-bent on damaging this site. If you were lack why in the world would you let someone who says what Dug says back on your site? You would literally have to be nuts. I get the impression that lack isn't nuts.

Second, he still maintains that he had the right to give away his points. Sorry, that dog just don't hunt. No one has the right to give away points and anyone who things he does should be banned. Think about what is entailed in giving away points. First you have to set up a fraudulent game. That is, a game which operates on a secret agenda. The players in every game have the right to expect that each player will try to win the game for himself (or his team in the case of partner games). Any other expectation is by definition a fraudulent game.

If you have communicated your intention to throw the game before the game even begins you in effect have an unannounced (in game chat) secret alliance with any player in the game who knows that Dug will be throwing the game. Does Dug deny that he widely and loudly announced his intention to give away his points in the forums? No, he's proud of it, it was the centerpiece in is jihad (or protest if you prefer Dug's term). So his friends see his announcement in the forums and join the games he creates. Now lets look at three cases here:

1) It's Dug and two friends in a game. Everyone knows that the game's a fraud. Dug's there because he wants to give away his points to his friends. His friends are there because they want to receive Dug's points. That game is patently fraudulent. It makes a mockery of the game and the site. Even if you somehow thing this is a legal thing to do, it's still cheating. It's the epitome of unsportsmanlike conduct. Not only on Dug's part but his friends as well. If someone were to do this, couldn't see how it was cheating, and promised to continue doing this, I would have (and I believe lack had) no choice but to bannish the player forthwith.

2) It's Dug and perhaps a friend or two, but what makes this case different is the presence of someone who'a not in on the scam. This innocent player joins the game because it was a public game. He's innocent because he is unaware that the game's a fraud. He's screwed in the game. Dug is going to suicide against this innocent player so his stooge can swoop down and pick up the points for winning this game. This is cheating at the most base level. If this alliance between Dug and his stooge is not announced in game chat, then he and his stooge have just broken the rule against secret alliances. I would argue that even if it's announced in game chat it's still cheating because the plan to do it was hatched before the game was even begun. That is, the alliance exists outside and before the game. In otherwords, there's a consipiracy to cheat between Dug and his friends. Dug posts: "hey I'm going start some games for the sole purpose of giving away my points," (since I know Dug is sensitive to being misquoted I should point out that that is not a direct quotation but a paraphrase). Then his friends indicate their acceptance of this "bargain" by joining the games. These are not players playing games, they are an organized conspiracy to defraud the entire site.

Lets forget about Dug for just a moment shall we (I know that's really hard for some people to do) and concentrate on the innocent player. He joined a game with the innocent expectation that it would be a real game. After all it wasn't labeled as a "Fraudulent game for the sole purpose of perpetrating Dug's points giveaway jihad." He's screwed, he's going to lose his points because he's got at least one player (Dug) actively trying to eliminate him for the sole purpose of giving the game to his cronies. I realize this innocent player isn't Dug, but can't the Dugophiles reach down really deep and have a tiny bit of sympathy for this innocent player. He's so screwed. And for what? What was his crime? He joined a game. If a player did this to another player I would have no compunction about banning them on the spot. This was no accident, there was a full blown conspiracy, Dug was doing this on purpose, felt completely justiified in doing this. He was cheating, plain and simple.

3) This is the most egregious case for me. Dug created doubles games as part of his point giveaway jihad. Once again, let me repeat that, these were doubles games. Dug was going to give away his points. In doubles games you have a partner. What did Dug think was going to happen to his "partner." This is wrong on so many levels that I don't think I really have to say anything more about this. Do this and you're banned in my book. The usual defenses don't apply here. This was not a mistake. This was planned. Dug didn't misunderstand what would happen to his "partner," a real bright 5 year old would understand what was going to happen to his partner. Did Dug announce to his partner in team game chat what was going on. If no then I guess it just compounds the crime. When lack reported that this was in fact what Dug had done, that is, create doubles games that he intended to throw, that's what I think was the final straw for lack. I'd had my final straw over Dug a considerable while back, but at this point lack correctly labeled Dug a griefer account and banned him (look it up on Wikipedia if you're unfamiliar with the term). It fits what Dug was doing to a T.

Let's face it, Dug was a rogue elephant marauding around the site trying to cause the maximum damage possible. Lack just shot him with a tranquilizer dart, put him on a the back of a flat bed truck and drove him out to the middle of a wildlife refuge and released him. He was a lot more humane to Dug than I would have been.

In the end Dug was screwing players right and left with his point giveaway game throwing jihad. If you can't see that I really don't know what to say to you. None are so blind as those who will not see.

If you don't like the point system, you make an argument in the forums to get it changed. You don't develop mad cow disease and start screwing with the rules of the site, cheating players of their points and perpetrating a fraud on every player who plays at CC. At least you don't if you have a shred of human decency left, a modicum of personal integrity.

It was a hissy fit of biblical proportions. When it started to affect other players lack did the only thing he could remove this cancer from is site.

For which, I'm extremely grateful. I would hope that any fair person would reach the same conclusion if they bother to understand the issues.

Finally, it's really not about the point system. The point system is what it is. You like it, you don't like, fine, I don't care. If I like it, it doesn't give me a license to cheat. If I don't like it, it still doesn't give me a license to cheat.

It's also not about Blitz. Blitz happens to be the highest ranked player on the site. Good for him, as long as he didn't cheat to get there. Nothing I've ever heard even rises to the level of an allegation of cheating made against Blitz. Blitz got to where he is by playing well, deciding what to play and who to play with and against. What he does as long as he breaks no rules has zero effect on me. If Blitz didn't want to play Dug then I guess that was Blitz's decision to make. As far as I know we can still choose with whom we wish to associate or play for that matter.

Dug took a detour on the straight path of life. He was speeding when he hit the guardrail and his momemtum carried him over the edge and into the chasm stretching below him. He was driving. He has no one to blame but himself.
