Suggestions go in a different forum.
and if you did some research, you'd see that this has already been suggested.

wicked wrote:It defeats the whole purpose of team games...coordination and working with others. Having one person play 2+ accounts in a team game, isn't really a team game. If this is how people want to play "team" games, then just make it so one person plays all accounts for one side.

again, you have 81 team games, so you really have no idea about the flow of a team game or how a team that may have upwards of 15 or 20 games may need to operate to stay current in all the games (i won't even mention guys that have 50-100 team games at once)... all teams discuss moves in real life, chat engines, PM's or game chat. i guarantee you, if you signed into my account right now, and went into my games, there would be relevant chat about what needs to be done, and suggestions as to how to do it. it doesn't matter who pulls the trigger, it is still a team game. i may wake up, take 2 turns, then leave chat/questions in the remainder of my games that i will be up on during the day, that i can not make the turns for, due to work or other real life conflicts. after i do that, i'll PM or call a partner and ask them to cover me for the day, and say something like, "i left some ideas, but if you see something better, do it..." then when i get home late in the eve, i may log on around 1130 or 1am to see what has happened and if i'm up. so, according to you, EVEN IF I LOG IN TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED, that means i had access to a computer and i am a cheat. whatever.. it just isn't cheating. it isn't even close to trying to gain an advantage on your opponents. perhaps i can see the point in freestyle, but no way in sequential. a team should be able to take another members turns when needed. sure, this could be abused, but most teams don't. it is just a way to manage the volume of games and to keep the flow of the games at a manageable and fun pace. is this cheating? i don't think so.-0

owen, again, it doesn't matter how many team games I've played, or you've played, why you feel a need to keep bringing this up is absurd. If I'd played zero team games, you might have a point, but for now, just LET IT GO already. sheesh.

I've already stated the position on the actual issue, nothing more to say on that at this time. owen's the one like "omg, 80 games means you don't know how to play team!" like wtf? what do you think I was doing for 80 games? lol twiddling my thumbs? get over it.

If you're wondering have I played the "cheating" way, no I haven't. I play by the rules. I'm able to play team games w/o giving my teammates access to my account (even if I could, I wouldn't). I play my own turns.

Hang on, what? The only reference to account sitting rules in the official documentations I can find is this:

Help wrote:15. Can I let another player take a turn for me when I am away from the game?

You can, with the stipulation that the account babysitter is not your opponent in any current game and does not start or join new games (except for ongoing tournaments). It is common courtesy to announce in game chat that another player will take your turn(s) during your absence.

If the "not within 24 hours thing" is a stipulation, why is not mentioned in the "with the stipulation" bit of the text?

we're working on it. ;-) It's kind of like the intentional deadbeating rule... an "unwritten rule" never really written down because we thought it was common sense. Don't worry, it will be now.

not letting it go, it cuts to the core of the issue and your misunderstanding of how teams actually function within the CC community. i'm not letting the issue of your not playing team games, yet somehow KNOWING how teams should operate, go. it would be like my going into the world of freestyle/escallating/8 player games and telling them that they are cheating somehow, based on what i see, despite my lack of knowledge on their settings. there is no backing down in this thread, wicked. you can't move it, let it drift down the page, and then lock it when nobody is looking. so, you need to face the fact that the amount of team games you have played, is truly an issue when you make blanket statements declaring members of the Team Playing community, cheaters, for what is a pretty standard practice. not only did you call us cheaters, you declared the debate OVER, because you said so. again, why don't you just read what everyone is saying, take it all in, and be like wacicha... in other words, absorb and think before you act. this is a very big issue, and would mean a huge change in the ways that teams handle/conduct themselves on the site. especially people that don't want to be called or considered cheats.-0

I'll repeat it one more time, then I'm done. This was discussed by staff and a decision reached to warn you guys. We often give warnings and further punishments for "unwritten rules" that we consider abuse of the site, for example intentional deadbeating. Strategic account-sitting falls under this category.

The answer is actually pretty simple I would have thought.

Let team members take turns should they have declared this at the beginning by ticking a requisite box when the game appears on their list.

This can ensure rules are adhered to. Punishments can be meted out to transgressors.

Its just a warning to tell you the rule exists and not to continue that type of strategy. It isn't exactly a punishment is it? did they strip you of premium or reset your score? NO. They explained to you that such a rule exists and if you continue a punishment will follow.

The rules are there for everyone and whilst they are not perfect, they are there to be fair to all. You can't play around a rule becuse it suits your style of play. I would love to have somebody play my games while I sleep at night, I would have a better win percentage than I have now.

it isn't STRATEGIC ACCOUNT-SITTING. show me how an advantage is ever gained. you can't. every person that has weighed in here, with a decent number of team games, does not see how it is cheating or how an advantage is gained. you seem to believe this is a daily occurence, and it just isn't. i am more apt to follow what someone like blitzaholic with his 4,000 plus games has to say about this matter, than a mod with 81 team games and an "unwritten rule" in her back pocket. and of course you are "done" with this, because you are not winning and you can't move or lock this to quiet the debate down. thank god for wacicha or this would already be over and we would all be cheats. look forward to a solidly written and fair rule that involves the input of people from the Team Game community...-0

all of them would expire at about 7 pm
but here is the deal right this day i will be out from 830 am until well past midnight where i get home i will be absolutely screwed and the last thing i wanna do is go on cc. if me finding a baby sitter or 2 cause of games involved in etc to take my turns but they take them during the day not before the get close to expiring is this in violation of baby sitting rules not that there are any official rules...

If you are a mod, act like one and stop name calling

wow... that is the sort of comment that often makes many of us question exactly when you are a mod and when you are a user just taking shots at someone that disagrees with you, hiding behind your title. we have all been asked to keep the level of discourse at a high level and to avoid personal attacks, and we have. then, A MOD, comes in and starts name calling because someone dares question what is a truly questionable ruling and a very vague "unwritten rule" that none of us can find. OH YEAH, IT IS UNWRITTEN!!! the best part of this is, it is a sticky, and it can't be moved and locked when nobody is paying attention. this needs to be resolved, so people can adjust their team tactics accordingly, to stay within the WRITTEN RULES...-0

p.s.-just flabbergasted at the audacity and rudeness of that comment.

Considdering this concerns one of my friends, I'll mingle in this. I asked you before on the forums for clarification: "If a person is unable to login in 24 hours are you allowed to take his turn whenever you want to?" and your answer was a plain "yes". This happened for Lovo, he could not login for the amount of time there was still on the clock in the freestyle game and someone else took his turn, whenever he wanted (so simultanious to his own.)

Babysitters don't give strategical advantage at all, It's better to be there with all of your team instead of someone babysitting one and doing his own account simultaniously when you want to make a quick move.

In reply to JohnnyRocket, I am completely out of this myself.. but I feel like defending my friends.

I have NOT been warned nor busted as I said I got nothing to do with this at all. I keep my plate clean, you can never be too sure. I rather not babysit anyone at all for that reason.

Drawing me in to the accusation proves once more you use everything, all the bullshit you can find, to accuse me instead of looking at facts.

sigh you are so naive...how about u check all of mine and wars games neither of us have access to each others accounts. he doesnt have my pswd and i dont have his. it has cost us our last few games due to rl pressure on both ends
the warning was for someone else who shall remain quiet. for taking my turns while i was away for approx 20 hours. as u know freestyle can be taken at any time and team freestyle is best taken together.
