What's your problem? There were no billyclubs involved, and to the best of my knowledge, none of the mods actually did anything. Warnings were dished out, but no actions were taken. If they came across heavy-handed, that's one thing, but notice was given swiftly and directly, which is the best way to do things.

And you keep going on about the freestyle double turns. Why? The double turn was FIXED. The mods are attempting to fix this bug, just A LOT quicker. Unless your complaint is that you would prefer they wait a year to fix this bug, there is no inconsistency.

Seriously, I don't understand all the sensitivity to these warnings, because they were JUST warnings. No harm, no foul. All of the adolescent anti-authority tirades are completely misguided.

I don't understand why you don't think shaking a warning stick at someone isn't the same as shaking a billyclub, especially when it was, as Volde indicated, the first announcement. Helluvan announcement, to send warnings rather than first a reasonable request.

You also said you don't understand the comparison to doubleturns because Freestyle doubleturns were, eventually, fixed. The comparison is, before they were fixed, the admin said that since the coding allowed it, it was legal to use. This is a situation where the coding is allowing players to create games, but instead of calling it legal to use, people are being warned for a 30-day vaca for doing what the coding allows.

OP came back and indicated the reasoning for Das Schloss being a concern, which is fine. It would've been MORE fine if an announcement was sent ahead of time requesting people not to create the games, requesting that they drop any unfilled games, and indicating that any new games created after that announcement would be warned and, as Namor pointed out, those "unwanted" games should be deleted.

I'm not, as some are, suggesting that people should make the games. If they continue now that it's known "why not" then sure, warn away, ban away, whatever. I am, however, opposed to admin being heavy-handed as its first mention of the concern; that's use of billyclubs.

This is pretty much a non-issue since the bug has since been fixed. No one got anything worse than a warning to avoid exploiting a bug.

Lets not needlessly peel bananas (though I am fan of them).
