Or just kills people in strange ways.

I mean, that would be ok wouldn't it?

Just killing people in unusual ways. That's not offensive is it?

Or killing/subduing whole nations to achieve world domination. That's not offensive is it?

[Please note the above is intended as humour. It may not be very funny. But I am not serious. Please do not start a thread about this response.]

cicero ;)

I think this is being blown out of proportion. If you don't know what a person's username means and you think it is offensive...ask them. My nick is Northmen69 and I've had ppl in the past comment on the 69 - that is the jersey number I wear on my football team.

On a lighter note, if my username was "LadyKiller" because I think I have a way with the ladies, would that be acceptable? Maybe QueerKiller is a knock out with his gay friends.

Long and short of it, ignorance is bliss but knowledge is true power. Isn't that what we're all here for? Power through world dominance. Censorship does more harm than good.

Sorry Cicero, included your comment as it shows that there are other ways of taking comments.

Thx

Sorry hulmey, with all seriousness, I've been offended by many usernames through my time on the internet and most of the time I've asked the user themselves what they mean by their name and if I don't like it, then I can choose whether I want to associate myself with that individual or not.

To you, ladykiller is acceptable, but then where's the difference with Queerkiller if used in the same context?

This was the only point I was trying to make other than trying to lighten up a hefty debate that should not be entered into at the dinner table or while drinking. :)

I have no argument with you delorean, just trying to state a point that seems to be overlooked by those calling for censorship.

This website might not be appropriate for a 13 year old. We don't cater to that crowd and we are liberal about what's allowed. However a 13 year old on the web has access to all sorts of stuff far worse than what you find on Conquer Club. I don't feel qualified to advise you this parenting decision.

No, maybe you don't but there are plenty of children that use this site. Perhaps there should be a notice warning people that this site is not suitable for minors.

Personally, i'm pretty thick skinned, but "Timekiller" would scare me bad.

LOL! In that case the world itself isn't really suitable for minors. Let's put up notice warnings at school yards and playgrounds alerting people that those sites are not suitable for children since they may actually meet other humans and through this social interaction - God forbid - they may be subjected to a curse or a statement being possible to interpret as sexist or racist...

Jez... Suck it up cupcake and realize that your kid knows (or should if he's adjusted socially) enough curses to go around already. If he would pick up a new one on CC, I don't think it would matter much in the long-run. But it's always good to expand ones vocabulary regardless of what kind of expressions or words we're talking about.

I have never cared about any1's username or what they write. Coz i know i can handle myself in any situation in the real world!!

However there are some less fortunate than me. And yes there should be some kinda control in place against nasty usernames and i have seen far worse than Queerkilla on this site.

What bugs me is the double standards you sometimes see on this site concerning what is acceptable and what is not!!

Well I'm not really quite as concerned about the poor little children considering what gets shown on network TV every night.

My issue is simply an expectation that a club can have on the conduct of it's members. Is it really so unreasonable to play an on-line game and not have to endure someone who obviously doesn't have a shred of respect for others? That feels like he must insult people with his very screen name? This isn't censorship, this isn't fascism, this is simply demanding members of your club display some degree of decorum. I know, sticks and stones, but that isn't the case. Me standing behind you and screaming at you all day is certainly something you can overcome but it would sure be a whole lot nicer for you if it wasn't going on.

You guys and your slippery slope make me laugh.

Is that why AK's parents won't let him on the internet after 9?

Yes so? If parents are responsible for keeping their kids in front or away from a TV-set, why on earth aren't parents responsible for their kids Internet use?

If some parents, for some reason only known to themselves, would have a problem with this site, it's the parents problem. Not the site's. All those stickers and warnings you see these days are just ridiculous.

OK, granted, society doesn't need to be protected from the boogie man. Do you have an argument against people just expecting a certain level of decorum? That's my point and you keep avoiding it. What is so bad about a club demanding better of it's members and not allowing jerk-offs to use insulting names?
