You mean missing turns? It's not against the rules but frowned upon by players.

No he doesn't mean missing turns...the question is whether to let the turn time out so the message appears '**** ran out of time', thus ensuring a non card turn and so maybe not increasing number of cards to 5 and having to cash.

I think this is a perfectly acceptable strategy. It is not against the rules, but is a loophole in the way the cards are issued. I have been wondering how long it would take a player to cotton on to this.

Ah, ok, that clears it up. Yeah not against the rules definitely. Although really annoying in speed games.

but is it not true that the discription of cheating is using unfair motive to gain an advantage over opposition which he is doing by not taking a fifth card

It could be said that the nuclear card option brings exactly this kind of new paradigm to the game...cash and be damned in the hope the next set are the oppos, or sit tight and hope the oppo hasn't got the cards to nuke your forces...

I let the time run out in a game once because I didn't want to cash and kill myself :D

I was in a team game as well.

If he starts the turn and doesn't take it, that is not deadbeating. Deadbeating is when they never take the turn.

It also sounds like you are not communicating very well with your partner... Team up with someone you can count on. Give me a shout if you need a new teammate.

Ah, but my post was grammatically correct. The second "punctuation" word was in it's own sentence, thus the period in between was correct. "Super" was used as an adjective, thus a hyphen is unnecessary.

Which illustrates a long known fact: AAFitz only posts to up his post count...

A retort or a riff? Perhaps it's pointing to the change in poetry, flow and meaning between its second incarnation and its first. Assuredly no parroting.
Perhaps it's avoidance, in its measly-mouthed way, of a thorny dilemma.
For timing out is a valid tactic (albeit a nasty one, best used only in pressing need in my book). But timing out in nuclear? I feel much less comfortable about that. Nuclear timeouts the new freestyle double turn? Whatever, I become less gentlemanly the longer I play here. Secretly a part of me is looking forward to a nuclear game & to brutishly timing-out my way to victory.

Mr Gates begs to differ. I put it in Microsoft Word and it reminded me that the first two "sentences" are in fact fragments. Please consider rewriting them.

Unless the idiotic function of turning in nuke spoils kills your own turf in a set is fixed , then seems to me that timing out is an act of self preservation.

STUPID TO BE FORCED TO NUKE YOUR OWN TURF !!!! The mapmaker that came up with THAT one ought to be forced to only play new recruits and thier spoils don't have that penalty ! Let that clown lose beaucoup points by his own infernal design !

WTF does the mapmaker have to do with it? Mapmakers didn't make up nuclear spoils. And hitting your own territories with nukes can happen on any map. Leave the poor mapmakers out of this.

Ps. there's a simple answer to all your troubles: don't play nuclear games. Wow! See how easy that is? Just wow! Now why didn't you think of it before...
