timing out in nuclear games

Postby eddie2 on Tue Jan 19, 2010 5:17 pm

ok question is if a player keeps timing out in a team game where 2 v 1 me being the one why is this not classified as cheating as player that is timing out is taking my bonus with troups. gaining an area bonus for troups then not cashing cards this is 3rd time he has done it so effectivly he should of had 2 trades or been kicked out yes or no.

as i am on the understanding that the use of unfair means to gain advantage in a game is cheating so if this person 3 times on the trot has done this is this not an example of it

I personally think this is a form of cheating. If a player takes the time to attack, knowing he/she will get a card, the player should be forced to take that card. The player made the decision to attack, therefore they made the decision to receive a card. By timing out on purpose it allows a player to get the benefit of an attack, without any care of having to cash. This is obvious cheating and should be treated as such.

I agree in that I always thought the site should be programmed as such so that if you time out on your turn, it is treated the same way as if you had ended your turn and chosen not to reinforce at all. Not only would this stop this, it would also give people their card on the off chance they simply forgot to end their turn.

It may not be cheating, but I put it right up there with intentionally missing turns so you can deploy multiple troops in a no spoils game. Its definitely shady gameplay and cheap tactics and I would label the player as such in a review.

I think although its brilliantly thought off, its also a tactic comparable to the freestyre double turn. I hope this problem soon gets elliminated.

Technically, they are not deadbeating. They are taking their turns, just not ending them.

I'm afraid your C&A-complaint won't do much good.

I believe a popular quote for this mess would be:

Suck it up, Cupcake

It is not cheating. As a cheating and abuse moderator im telling you. We have talked about it with other mods. And we feel that although cheap play its not against the rules. Most especially as the cards are random and you can own several of the same card at the same time

ok then so what was the point of nuclear spoils if you can just do this. it therefore makes nuclear spoils pointless as every body will just start doing it
