well, as a resident of Vancouver Island, I plan to NOT be able to afford to go across the straight to the mainland and attend the olympics, because of the outrageous scalping prices, and bullcrap security measures they have. Also, I plan on paying more for everything in life for the next 25 years or so, until the cost of hosting the olympics is depleted. But, apart from that, guess I'll just watch it on tv, like 2 billion others plan on.
A friend who owns a house in Whistler, BC, where the downhill events are being held, has rented his house out for 14 days, and received enough money from that to take his 6 person family on a 2 week Barbados vacation.
