I'm not sure its an "upward trend", while it is currently "going up", using CC's data points it isn't growing, its still seems to be declining.

Nov '18 - 5201 players and 1195 qualified players
Nov '19 - 4950 players and 1092 qualified players

Dec '18 - 5222 players and 1204 qualified players
Dec '19 - 5128 players and 1136 qualified players

We aren't through January so don't have final numbers for it yet, but:

Jan '18 - 6952 players and 1420 qualified players
Jan '19 - 5645 players and 1262 qualified players
Jan '20 - 5406 players and 928 qualified players (currently...will likely grow a bit more qualified players)

So it looks like we normally see a bump in January compared to the December markers, and while we're seeing the same standard bump, its not "growing the game". Its still in decline atm, once January closes we can compare just how much.

and this month we should get close to 1200 again, already up by 33 in the last 24 hours... shows me we have been pretty stable over the last 12 months or so.
let's compare us to our closest competitor who run the same scoreboard, but they stretch it out to 20 games over 60 days and they have a total of 474 active accounts, yet nobody there is screaming that they will shut down.
Then there is the group that broke away from CC in 2010-2012 sometime, almost looks like a graveyard, currently 2 "active" users according to the forums page and I am 1 of those, 0 that is ZERO speed games, I can't even search the last one played, yet they still happily exist.
whinge and whine all you want, we aint going :D

I don’t think the discussion of the thread is are the other sites worse?
It’s that CC has historically offered a solid community of players. It’s still declining. At some point the level of play here diminishes to the point while the site may still exist, the quality of game experience no longer exists.

Saying the site “has growth” is a bit of misdirection, as the site is not growing its player base.

Not sure “look how bad these sites are, and we aren’t there yet!” Is a reason to celebrate, especially when if nothing changes it’ll continue to decline bringing this site closer and closer to its competitors.

old members leave, new members replace them.
Yes there has been a steady decline since the "smart" phone era.
But there will always be a base of players here.

5433 total

968 for the month to date, should pass 1000 sometime in the next 48 hours and will go close to 1200 for the month, as this scoreboard has a tendency to increase more rapidly in the last week of each month.

if old members are replaced with new ones as you say how is it the site closing in on a million players who have joined and 5433 remain how can you possibly say old members are replaced by new ones , so smoke blowing going on here .

sad is it is the ole site isnt growing in any way . ice pack clearly showed the decline in solid numbers ,

we all can see the lack of players hell call-outs for a feudal epic speed games are taking place and wait for it still not filling an 8 player game . games sit open in speed side for hours if they fill at all it took a group of ten to 15 players to join the battle royals that didn't even show up to play due to several hours of wait times . today barney rubble opens a 6 player classic at 612 pm 845 pm still sitting open . this site is showing a spike in numbers perhaps but it isnt getting any games filled nor is it even possible to tell if its not you teegee with your vpn just sitting opening new accounts blowing smoke here with not a lot of real facts to prove the cc club is in fact declining not growing what so ever .

quality of the games are at a all time low the dead beats cant really be blamed if they join up and 2 hours later the game starts so keep on keeping on smokey

on Jan 23rd 2020 1968 games started, this includes 328 speed games (that equals better than 1 speed game starting every 5 minutes)

on Jan 23rd 2020 1968 games started, this includes 328 speed games (that equals better than 1 speed game starting every 5 minutes)

thats not to bad m8 1968 games in a day nothing to sneeze at and kinda really does show what you were saying speed games are a small percentage of games played .

im not going to kick ya when down so to speak but the above is a good thing if you stop and look at that its promising to see so many games opening . the speed games 1v1 mostly other then a few 5 to 6 player baltic foggy trench . but the positive here is clear ppl are still playing . will still say the quality of the games are lacking game wait times are harsh but hey thats just my opinion .

i still say new growth is you a vpn and a ton of multis . im on too you mr ....whahhhhhahahahaaaaaaaaaa

im surprised is all a lil sad too cc club is cool concept sucks to see it in its current state . ya have to remember once we could log on play as many multi player speed games with a real good competitive edge as we wanted . to see it come to a hour wait to only have 1 2 or even 3 now shows causing one more to deadbeat is just common place . i feel we can do something to change this but not so sure you are ready to hear it .

teegee you have a passion for this site to me that is clear but ya may need to simply try a few new things when back from holidays but m8 i can say with a degree of certainty the site is on life support.a few little changes i feel can help revive this once thriving site .

ill leave ya with this , new players want to log on and play in real time like now!!! you need to focus on retaining new blood by opening the freebies to include the speed section in there 4 available games .this will add more right away action players are seeking , currently they log on no way of knowing 5 free games are available with the 100 coins in the cc store.

they either open a random map game or join a classic 24 hour game . if they go second and that member who opened the game isnt on line they sit waiting no action what so ever yawn boring and log off in most cases for good . this will also help fill the speed games and cut down on current wait times we now face .

the new blood is vital to cc club growth . we need to bring the action to the newbs asap, real time gaming especially right of the bat . then id call out for guides / mentors to educate them in the way of our site . have the mentors dropping chat in games explaining the sites options not so sure the guide system with joining a game is working and frankly its wasting players time on a butt load of dead beat games . have the guides text message in game chat . a simple hello at first if a response is given have the guides educate on cc club . if we cant offer a real time game gaming experience right off the bat we will and are loosing their interest .

just one idea of a handful i have but to leave this issue be and hope for the best just wont cut it the ship will sink!

I definitely think that giving one speed game a day or 2 or something would majorly raise the retention rate, personally. That crap is addicting

i have been paying close attention to this issue . even if the newb gets the start in first game it isn't a real time game and requires there opponent to be online to continue . i feel strongly they need to be put directly in to the action asap . just add the available 4 games to include real time games maybe even change speed game name to real time game make it as easy as possible to spot the right now action . i cant stress this enough the current join up and sit idle in most cases in todays gaming world will never entice a new recruit to stick around .

god forbid they open 4 games and go second in all . yikes!!!! get them in to the action in real time right off the get go !!! if possible soon as they log on for first time a pop up with a direct path to waiting real time games .

It's something i will be bringing up with the site owners when I'm back at full capacity. When that will be, I am not exactly sure, could be next week, could be in late November. Unfortunately it is out of my hands right now.

As for me using a VPN to create multi's I'm not that silly, you know I am also a multi hunter, I have busted many users hiding behind a VPN, not saying how, but most VPNs will not protect you here ;) I say most because i have not tried them all so can not say 100%

This was brought up years ago, and specific easy to implement suggestions were made at the time. They went nowhere.

This website is just brutal for scaring away new users.

Don't plan on increasing numbers anytime soon. Rather, expect to continue losing players.

Sometimes people join who have no interest in speed games. I've been here since 2011, I have completed 13827 games of which 357 were speed. That gives me 3/4 of a speed game per week. Plenty. Some of us just aren't turned on by speed games no matter how many times you offer them.

I was one who looked at many Battle Royales during the contest and always just passed. Speed games are so slow because of people who drop when they start losing and then I and others who didn't are stuck waiting for the timer for 10 minutes (I know they aren't all 3 min games, some are longer). Why do I want to wait. Playing 50 sequential games gives me more game play.

I wouldn't care if there were no speed games, but I know that some people really like them. It is good to have variety, so different people have different reasons to stay and we can all occasionally sample the other dishes. There is no one reason people don't stay, nor is there one reason that people are attracted.

its different today in online games i think .many want action some human interaction and to have fun . the way cc club is now ya log on either start a game or join a game nothing in real time and requires the opponent to be on line to play . not saying your wrong in that way of thinking but think new players need to start playing or have the ability to right away . in some cases they log on join a game and just sit idle not being able to even take a turn not a lot of fun in that so log off and move on.

most sites offer real time games even risk but our new recruits are sitting in the 24 hr games that require some one else be on line to play . real time gaming needs to be available to them asap. they didn't create an account to log on and sit waiting a day to take the first turn i suspect they want to get right at it and begin .

i can see the point and i wouldn’t be against adding a speed game or two to new player, however and this exemple may not be the best but at least will demonstrate the thought behind the fact adding speed game to newbie may not bring anything more such as additional premium member.

I use to play Guide game (stopped few weeks ago), which are game a new member select when he first login, those game are casual 24hrs but, we Guide Member, tried to play right away when we got the auto-invitation, i can say 1 out of 10 new player play the whole game and with me playing my turn right after him, those casual game last less than a day sometime, most of the new member start turn, drop, play and exhaust all troops and you saw the log they ran out of time, never come back the next day, never login again.

So with this exemple it show no matter the game type, most of the member create their account, get first guide game start and logout. Adding the speed game to them wouldn’t do anything unless CC creates an “introduction” login, where it explain what the site is all about and direct them to the rules of how to play, with a tutorial bot game to show them the basic function.
Adding free speed would only benefit the current long timer Freemium who don’t want to spend money for a Premium to gain access to this game type.

Agreed, onboarding is important, as a new player I would have no idea I have to sit in the waiting tab to be notified the game starts, if they decide to browse forums, other games etc, they will never know. The site uses archaic front end technology so the standard user that is used to javascript enabled pages, push notifications, etc, will be confused. Even as a long-time user, I've had to remember to refresh that page because sometimes it will time out etc.

As a person who works in UI development and UX basics there are quite a few things that could be simple changes (to my understanding) with existing technology that would allow these things to be more clear.

swimmerdude I completely agree with your point about the graphics. When I joined, I almost quit because I couldn't figure out how it worked. The instructions are really terrible and don't explain anything and the site looks like it's from the '90s. This site would go a long way if there was a better explanation of how it worked as well as better graphics.
