There is now 362 captains or players with 2000 or 2K score and higher

just a couple months ago there was 298 or 300

makes total sense as more pts keep entering the system with more and more players joining - these pts will naturally flow to the top.

Also the increase in maps and game types will also have meant there are far more options that players can specialise at and garner points from.

how bout players like krusher taking almost 2800 points form the cc players, then his score gets reset to 1000, would this bring it down some??

nope 2800 points = ~40 new players that join 4 games and deadbeat.

so he does help the inflation but only a little bit.

on the other hand, if all those 363 captains + would get score resets then i guess the inflation would be solved for a month or so

nope. every 6 months everybody gets a new start from 1000. we fight like mad men and at the end of another 6 months prizes are awarded for highest ranked overall/single/doubs/trips or for most offensive etc. then we start again and so on.

although the number of 2K players and 3K players have gone up some, we did have 17 3K players or 16 back in JAN 2007, so the average of point inflation maybe be going up in the 2K range fast (from 59 to 363 from JAN 2007 to now),

but 3K range, only 1 extra person in last 11 months, well that is not moving much, seems to be staying pretty stable for achieving 3K and leveling off there. (16 to 17 in last 11 months is not much of an increase to reach 3K)


then 3.5K, that has been very stable, maybe it will change over the months, but for several months now, we have only had, 1, 2 or 3 brigadiers at one time not counting the conqueror and that has remained stabilized. gets much much harder the higher you go

What's the point in the higher ranks like General and Field Marshall if no one can reach them? I agree that reseting points will likely be needed one day, but not yet. Not until there are a lots of people with these top ranks.

I remember in the old ranking system- there were maybe like 15-20 Colonels ( Captains )............. now in the 2000+ has a ton of new faces with two more threads on 1800/1600 players. Even more to come.

GFY DiM - it's taken me long enough to get there once... don't make me do it again!

I agree with Blitz though. While the top scores seem to be only increasing quite gradually, the multitude of players in and around 2000 points is exploding. I remember before the ranks where changed, playing someone who was 1600+ (an old-time major) was quite scary for me, as they so rarely seemed to appear in games. But now loads of public games have loads of middle-ranked players.

Also, in callouts there is an entire section to play games with other captains and above...

its called CC2000 games... give them a try.. I used to send out pms to captains with the pw, but its simply impossible to do that with so many

Actually the callouts section has become a lot more popular recently too. No-one used to post there but now we have CC2000 games, Officers' Mess and Sergeants' Hall all going its become a hive of activity.

The first time I got over 2000 points there were under 200 people over 2000... now they spill on to the second page. It's crazy.

Very very difficult when you are over 3000 points to rise much further.
Everybody talks about point inflation but this tends to level off between 2000 - 2500 points,remember that 2 of the 3 players to have reached 3500 points recently have had to resort to underhand tactics to get there !
