randomizing team matches

Postby DukeDagmar on Mon Sep 21, 2009 8:27 pm

why are they always full of captains and colonels on one team and a bunch of privates on another. Randomize it or something to give a fair advantage. I mean sure i've won a game or 3 against these odds but still, getting stuck with two or three guys who can't tell their cannon from a cavalryman is disheartening.

Also on a side note, if this has been argued before then my apologies as this is my first posting.

been discussed endlessly... many teams earn their rank together Nd develop the ability to play a sound game with little to no game chat. i would suggest finding someone in call outs or having a friend join the site... I am not that highly ranked, but most of the rank I have i earned in team games... good luck!!!-0

p.s.-no way i am going to play in a random team match with someone i don't know and/or trust... just not going to happen.

What is a "fair advantage?"

Why don't we just take this one step further and randomize who wins the game?

I wonder why they don't randomly distribute the players into teams when people play football, soccer, or basketball. It would be a lot more fair if they divided up all the good players so the crappy team would have a chance.

You can do what I did when I first started. After you get beat in one of those games, ask one of the people on the winning team if they would let you join a doubles or triple match with them.

If they see your game play in a game, even in one you lost, they will give you a chance. You might have to ask a couple of times and get 10-20 games under your belt, but there are great people here who will help new comers.

Give it a try. I'm not that high ranked, but on one of my dub/trip partners, SCMan, do this for people on a fairly regular basis.

Hope that helps. hang in there.

There are plenty of fantastic team players who would love to partner a low ranker IF that low ranker has some kind of messenger service and likes to communicate turns. It works well for both parties. The high ranker gets more points, the low ranker picks up some tips and wins more.

To put a final couple of notes in here. You shouldn't join and wait for a team. Find people and all join together. Many of us have tried it a couple of times, and been burned by a random. I've also found a partner or two who were low ranked, but could play, or just listen at least.

Also, a lot of us communicate through plane old game chat, if you communicate in some fashion during game, people are more likely to play with you.

If you can't find someone to partner with you, send me a pm. We'll setup a game and see how you play. :)

most of the people i end up paired with either team kill or don't realize there is a game chat box on the map for team speak and orders or other methods to reach people, as mentioned by someone earlier. As for the dude who spouted off for no apparent reason about randomizing everything, get real buddy. save your snide comments for your little brother, or your wife or dog, or whoever it is you kick when you don't get what you want. there will be no "flaming" getting me all riled up so begone peon. Thanks for any help anyone else decided to share :)

I love this idea Neon, before every sporting event, anywhere, all the names of the players should be placed in a hat and randomly drawn to decide who plays on which team.
