Lol when they say "recruiters" we know their actually cults. I hope they have some sort of limit on memebers, or this could get messy, and mafia and town would both be mashed. And by the context of the message I don't think they have a limit. I think we should start hunting them right now!! Hmm the key is to lynch one of them so the other becomes town, because if we nk them, the goal is not fulfilled, thus the other cult could run away with the game.

Judging by what ares and athena have said I don't think they have the typical standard win condition, I think they just need to get the other lynched then they ALL turn into townies. But this is really really crazy, I was not expecting this when I signed up, and had no reason to expect it when I got my role.

I was waiting for Athena to say something. This game is based on opposing third parties. Right now me and Athena are third party recruiters/lynchers. We must have the other lynched to win. After one of us is lynched, the winner becomes a normal townie with normal townie WC. I have been silent these past few days but I've been systematically recruiting the better players in this game. If you think you've done a better job of recruiting than me, then try to find me before I find you.

To everyone I've recruited so far, the hunt starts now. Find out who Athena is get her lynched. If you know my name, then just follow my lead. No more hidden messages. Everything's out in the open right now. Town and scum, stay out of this. Once me or Athena get lynched you can keep going with your game.

Any questions?

So Ares and Athena are apparently recruiters. I wasn't aware of that; I started the game on Athena's side, I wasn't recruited. As for william18's comment, I can assure you that it says I'm 3rd party in my role PM, not cult. Although if they recruit I suppose it would be kinda the same thing. It would still be only a temporary cult though, not one that could win in end-game, because they would get un-culted when they lynch the other party's god.

I sincerely doubt Ares is truthful when he says he will become a normal townie after lynching Athena. Let's not forget Ares is the god of war. I believe he's also a bad guy in the Xena-series. He'll likely join the mafia if he succeeds to lynch Athena.

Fortunately, there are not many people here who could write a message like the one Ares did here. He phrased his sentences very delicately and used the abbreviation WC for Win Condition. People I deem qualified to write such a message are (most likely first):
- mandalorian2298
- Pancakemix
- F1fth
- Skittles!
- Nagerous
- Kwanton
- anyone I forget? feel free to suggest.
These would also fall under the category of "the better players in this game" that Ares has apparently been recruiting. Mandy's the one who's been keeping his head down most, so he's my top suspect of these people.

Vote Mandy.

I'm not going to vote Iliad or ani, as they're obviously not Ares. I'm not sure what to make of Salubri claiming my role. Lyncher, pawn of Ares, or it could just be Skoffin screwing with our heads again by putting in duplicate roles. Anyway, the chances of Salubri being Ares himself are pretty slim, so my vote won't be going there either.

If your role is "Xena, Warrior Princess" then we are not claiming the exact same thing. As I've already said, my role is only named "Xena" [without the "Warrior Princess"]. That's why I can't be too sure that you are faking that claim.

I don't think Mandy is Ares. While he does post coherently, he would make at least one spelling mistake (sorry Mandy, but that's usually what happens when English is your second language). As for him being recruited, that's not entirely out of the question. There's also that Storage Room 1 business with him that leads me to believe he's not involved in the trifles of the gods, playing some other role.

Either way, neither of the groups say that they are threatening, and I hope they're not lying. Beyond that, there's not much I can say on it. I can see why you would care, Sierra, because even if you're not Xena like you say, you're likely on Ares' side, possibly even Ares himself, given how you post and how the message was posted. That said, Athena seems to think you're the real deal. I'll wait until there's more input to vote.

I feel certain that anark is involved in the ares cult one way or another, as 1. He's a good player, and 2. his typing looks like how ares is typing.

*cough* kinda been falling off my PR, my bad. Skittles, from what I know, I'm not a survivor, I'm a friendly loony. But I'm still not 100% sold on Iliad's claim, He's right- exile was spied upon- but I didn't pick it.

Okay, maybe you don't type like ares, but that still doesn't mean your not part of his cult, since you not typing like him doesn't mean that you aren't a convert.
Anyway, I'm gonna reread and see who types most like ares, so he can be lynched today and have all of this crap over.

Anarks easily swayed votes were even at the beginning of the game. It's more likely he's scum then a recruited culty.

Well said, Ace...

Two things...?

One without an actual vote?

I thought you said 'easily swayed'?

Changing my vote because someone came up with something one time is now considered 'easily swayed'?

Hmmmm. Think you'd better rethink that.

Three examples, two of which have no vote...

Now things are getting interesting... I'm liking this game.

Just as I suspected, it looks like both the God Groups (which I'll call "GGs" from now on because I'm lazy) are third-party, but independent of the town vs. scum conflict. So the question I ask all of you is should we get involved with this thing and end it quick, or let it resolve itself and mind our own?

Lets resolve this quick. It will be unfair for the cults to wage war and desimate everyone that wasn't lucky enough to get recruited.

Scum are always a concern. I guess we're between a rock and a hard place here. Let the recruiting faction get strong while we search for scum or go after the god(s) and let the scum/SKs wittle us down.

Up to you guys who ya'll wanna go for.

Will's really pushing this matter hard, I wouldn't be surprised if he was part of one of the two groups.
SL and Salubri claimed the same role name, SL's cliam is more credible for the fact that it's very specific and apparently verifiable, on the other hand it's unlikely Salubri would make an outright fake claim unless there was a very good reason.
there for I believe there are a few possibilities;
As Sierra_Leon pointed out Ares is the god of war, but so is Athena, the only thing that differs is the style of warfare, Ares is the god of chaotic warfare (pilaging and using tons of brutal violence) as well as the god of bloodlust, so we may assume ares would lean more on the side of scum in traditional depiction. Athena is the goddess of tactics warfare and heroism. Still Neither as gods were typically completely against each other.except when they went to war on opposite sides in the illiad, but even in that depiction Athena forgave Ares. Athena was held to be the more important god to the ancient Greeks, while Ares was considered more esteemed to the ancient Romans.

It is not entirely out of the question for both SL and salubri to have the same role, perhaps each depicts xena at a different point in the story?

Also unusual, While Athena is a protagonist in the Hercules TV series, whilst Ares is the main villain, The Xena series has Xena latter allied with Ares against Athena. (while fighting Ares earlier on.) but still Athena isn't an often occurring character in either.

Anyways, on to the other theory
I think Salubri's actions thus far suggest someone who is attempting to be targeted at night.
claiming such an extreme power-role on day one is sure to make scum, doctors, investigators and serial killers alike flock to you. it's possible he is a reverse jester, but it's likely more complex, something like stealing roles when targeted, or a bulletproof PGO SK, Possibly even this "infiltrator" we've been hearing about, Either way I don't think what's happening is normal.

These would also fall under the category of "the better players in this game" that Ares has apparently been recruiting. Mandy's the one who's been keeping his head down most, so he's my top suspect of these people.

Vote Mandy.
