One summer evening, ages ago
In a Cafe that poets used to frequent,
A stranger walked in and took of his hat,
He was a rather peculiar gent.
Now, this poets, they are a friendly group,
They invited this fellow to join the fun,
He said: “My name is Selin and I write haiku,
Verse from the Land of the Rising Sun.”
Yes he is nice and he artistic,
A mafia player you could only ask for,
But I kept on having a particular filing,
As if a Critic just came came through the door.
So, Selin, he says, to keep us from worrying:
“I won't have problems talking with you,
See Aimless, our mod, he said it's ok
To have in one post many haiku”.
Selin wrote:Good news from aimless!
no limit one poem per post...
I'm happy again.

It is called Haiku,
each seventeen syllables...
or say silly bells
Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn! (5)
Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn! (7)
Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn!, Damn! (5)
“Also”,he added, while we listened amazed,
“Aimless, he has caused me some grief
See, he said there probably wouldn't be any haiku,
Which is why I am greeted with disbelief.”
“Oh, mighty Mod,”he continued to rage,
“Why are you doing all this to me, man?!”
And when he fell silent, expecting an answer,
I knew he was either insane or scum, my son!

Without going into too much detail too early (I'll give more out once I'm actually ready to start the game, which at the rate Sherwood is going probably won't be until August), it will basically be like this :
The game will be split up amongst poets (townies) and critics (mafia). Each poet will have a specific verse style (for instance, Haiku, although that is probably one I won't use, hence I feel safe naming it here) that they will be required to utilize for all of their posts.
The critics will have no such post restrictions (although, if they don't want to be found out immediately, they'd better fake one).
As for knowing how to spell - I don't mind the occasional misspelling (it is called poetic license, after all), but given the nature of the game I don't want to see you mangling the English language - unless your character happens to be e e cummings.

HAIKU TO AIMLESS
What the hell

is that?
Above words and pm me
"to write in Haiku"
.
See, mods, they are a particular sort,
They don't like it when thread with their PM's is filled,
Unless a player lies through his teeth,
He usually ends up being mod-killed.
That is why I stood up (if wobbly)
And said over the sound of a violin,
“I voted for you and my vote will stand!”
For, I do not trust this fellow, Selin.
(For all the people who wonder how "man" can rhyme with "son", I would like to add that this is an Irish Ballad

)
