lol id have to agree with going against the idea of lynching all of the contestants...twould probably be disasterous to the town if there were even 4 tonwie shooters and 2 scum.

I'll actually go you one better and postulate that there's only one mafia (robin) in the contest. I could get into the whole historiography of bow-and-arrow use, but suffice it to say that in the period in which Robin is traditionally depicted (late 12th century), bow use was a military and gentlemanly pursuit, requiring a great deal of skill and practice, whereas Robin's pack of Merry Men would most likely be using staves (hence the victims beaten to death at night) and have little if any proficiency with the bow. (btw, if I'm wrong about the history element, please let me know... college was a long time ago) And I know that the game isn't sticking to strict history (such as it is when it comes to a legendary figure like robin), but there has been some level of consistency.

Besides, given that anyone with half a brain knows that robin hood is an expert archer, it would only make sense that he be difficult to find amidst the other contestants.

Either way, assuming the black quarrel killer is a role and not a deus ex machina, there's no reason to think that said person is in the contest, as the quarrel is a bolt shot from a crossbow. Totally different skillset.

Did any one else find this odd? What exactly is IGS doing? Quitting?

:?

I'd like to hear from him about this. I don't know why he would want to quit the contest, unless he feared a possible assassination.

I didn't quit the contest. What I did was purposely miss one shot, then properly aim for the other two.

But what happened was I got eliminated, because my other 2 shots just missed the bulls-eye.

I didn't not quit.

Alright. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the contest works. Thanks.

Essentially, individuals pick a color (thats the color of their mask)

Then, they have to tell whether they would like their shots to hit or miss (you choose an action for each shot)

that was IGS flaw....he choose to miss one of his shots, and that was enough to have him lose this round.

Are you in the tournament too?

And IGS, what was your skill level with the bow?

im not sure thats safe evidence to give away yet.

Like ive mentioned, everyone in the tournament has the option to reveal their identity if they choose to. If i feel its in my and the towns best interest to do so, i will.

Ditto to the skill level.

Well... I'm assuming that Robin is in the contest, so the more people that reveal themselves the better chance we have of catching him. So, unless you're Robin, you'd be helping the town by revealing yourself.

do you do anything other than say hit or miss. Do you decide in any way how close to the bulls eye you get? Do you have to do anything?

you essentially say hit or miss, and your skill level (as far as i can tell does the rest) * as an aside i think this is all tellable information, if not please dont modkill me!*

Ak forgive me, but as the highest on my list of scum suspects, i am not really all that compelled to give you a roleclaim.

Since Aimless said he was using random.org, I can assume that a hit or miss is figured out by a random number+ your archery skill. I suppose that the bigger the number , the closer the arrow to the bullseye.

I didn't ask for a roleclaim.

I wanted to know which color mask you're wearing, and what your bow skill level was.

But you could always lie about your skill. That's why I'm not pressing for everyone to revel it. It's like asking for a mass-claim.

indeed, i dont really think at the moment everyone claiming all kinds of information does anything but lead to a mass claim, which im not sure is the best line as of the moment.

True, you could lie about anything. I'm just trying to gather as much info about the contest as possible so maybe we can put the pieces together and figure out how Aimless is working it. Which may lead us to figuring out who Robin is...

Hold your horses for a while with the contest, I think we should wait for next round before we start speculating. It is confirmed however (don't remember right now by whom. I'll have to go a few pages back, it was IGS if my memory serves me right), that certain "simple" townies were awarded with archery skill and could participate in the contest.

Well, I'm already out, and I was about to get revealed by Aimless. That being said Aegnor was spot on, because the only special thing I had was an archery skill of 3.

But the theory of Robin hood winning is very slim, because there was an option of missing a shot on purpose (which I foolishly did).

I also propose that we wait a round or two before revealing anything.

Yep it was IGS.
