Gosh, I can't believe i'm actually defending Flores for once :|

All of this [except for the last two quotes] is from the same page. The last two quotes are from the start of the next page. Let's start with V's attempt to hammer sax. This seems a little like a chance to quickly end day 1, and, shortly thereafter, Flores jumps on as well... When this is noticed and pointed out, She quickly votes for herself to diffuse the situation and both V and Violet attempt to further draw attention away. I realixe that this isn't as eloquent as it should be, but I'm starting to fall asleep, so I'm trying to be brief and to the point...

Agreed but then my playing style at the moment usually means people want to hammer me....

Ah well.

Ya, I am here, lurking. Having a hard time getting into the swing of this game. When I see something I have an opinion on I will speak up.

My thoughts so far.
I assume there is a jester out there. Fircoal has them in at least 1/2 the games I have played in that he has hosted. With the way some people are playing I wouldn't be surprised at all (flores)

Vicky did try to hammer sax, so I see that as a bit of a tell. Dunno what good he expected to come out of that. FoS Victor

I thought that might be the case but the timing had just seemed off to me. either way, I've definitely been in those odd situations where I didn't know what to post so I'll leave it be at that.

Ok first of all sorry for the Victor thing I guess I misread and was too into my idea of him being jester :P Obviously with Saxlad claiming and Flores being silly (she did do some scummy moves though and I was the first to vote her for the wagon vote on Sax Strike btw) so to me Vic is really the sole candidate remaining for jester. On that:
aage wrote:I noticed Victor acting pretty suicidial in every game I've seen him in. Not a reason to ignore him, though.

I disagree completely, his behaviour is usually way more composed. He does do stupid mistakes especially at endgame throwing his vote but it is way different than here. At this point I'd say he definitely needs more a vigkill than a lynch at least.
Moving on...
nagerous wrote:How you are ad hominem is that you attempted to tear my arguments apart, criticising my mafia playing skills calling my ideas lousy and nonsensical, which are attacking words.

Dude, if tearing arguments apart and calling out lousy ideas ad hominem we've been doing that all the time forever to anyone playing mafia. It doesn't make sense to me. And it's precisely because I think your mafia skills are good that I thought there could be an ulterior motive. I guess the fact you took such offense makes it less likely, or you're playing really well the fake anger  I'll admit to ad hominemly calling you rusty though :P
Anyway I suppose I'll drop it, I might not have a tremendous accusation but was expecting a less frustrating argue, which at least makes me think you're more likely townie. If it ends up not true I'll be ](*,) at this missed opportunity.

Anyhow, meanwhile Violet hasn't made a single post since being called out. She's been active in other games as far as I can see. I think that side of the whole flores thing might be juicier because of it...

My mistake...maybe I should get some sleep. I seem to be messing up a lot today. can someone slap me till I come to my senses? Anyways you do seem to be right about vio. I had noted her as posting in the san francisco mafia and attributed it to putting hosting first but it appears she has posted a few times in Sully's game as well as elsewhere across the fora and she could pose a possible link to Flores if they do turn out to both be scum.

vote vio

You might wanna take a look at the Crusades mafia day 1 and the San Fransisco mafia. "vote the person with the most votes. Is that scummy?" That's the kind of stuff I'm referring to. Note, this was not a serious vote (as in, I'm not voting for the guy with the most votes now).

On the bit where someone says I'm Edoc's lurking mate, I'm trying a different strategy. Laying low instead of playing early offensive.

That'd be Red Dead Redemption, by the way, not San Fransisco. He might be acting odd in there as well, but the quote is from RDR.

Yes I did accuse you of being someone's lurking mate. For about 2 seconds before I realized I had for some weird reason put your name instead of commander's...I had seen you respond earlier in the day and did not mean to say your name it just slipped out...and I was referring to Naxus at that point not edoc as edoc had already responded.

Hmm, I wasn't aware of his behaviour in these games. If it's a regular thing I guess my point is moot and he sucks. He should still be vigkilled though :D

Possibly true, it's just that I don't really get the self-slipup. Or even *any* slip-up for that matter. And if there were any slip-ups, I think we may as well add me to the list for admitting I'm laying low :P FoS strike and ga7 for not noticing :P

Announcement.

Finals are coming and while I thought I could hope with them without studying, a B that I got changed my mind a bit. I may be able to post a few things and I may not. If you want to replace me/mod kill me, feel free.

If I'll still be alive by next Friday, I should go back to the regular regime. Thank you for your attention.

P.S. Although I haven't checked this game for a while and I've asked to be replace. Most likely I will not pay more attention to this due to someone posting something that I shall not be involved with.
P.P.S. However, if I'd be modkilled, the balance could tip quite a bit, so it would be a good idea to replace me.
But... It was so artistically done.

WTH!!! No one was even talking about you!! Most of the discussion has been centered around Flow, Victor and myself. This is also how a typical mafia game progresses. There have been some really good quality discussions this game. So if the nature of the arguments offended you, then you might be offended in every mafia game. (By the way, I have not seen any insults, meanness or anything offensive so far in this game, so can't for the life of me figure out what offended him).

"If you can't stand the heat, get away from the fire."

I suppose that quote applies here. Really weak of you to just give up and want to be replaced, especially so early on in the game. But whatever. I certainly don't understand it. Perhaps I will later in the game.

Good luck with your finals :|

I really don't understand why you are so bent out of shape about commander asking to be replaced. If he doesn't have time for the game which is the reason he cited (this vague idea that he might be upset with someone is a ps after the main body). Its a shame if he does have to be replaced, he was becoming a pretty good player rather quickly.

Also vio, you mention that there is some good discussions care to comment on any of them?

He has posted that message in several games. He has finals coming up, and will be too busy for mafia. That is fine.

However....

He stated that he asked to be replaced in this game days ago. In the meanwhile he was still posting actively in other threads. If you look at reason #2, he states it was because something in this game seriously bothered him. It wasn't just a tiny little thing he could ignore. This particular thing SERIOUSLY bothered him, so much so, that he had to ask the mod to be replaced. And he is a pretty dedicated player, so not like him to just quit without a good reason. Well at least....that is what I'm trying to determine here.

My post was just a big dramatic way of me saying, "I don't get it."

No offense to Ficoal, but this game is less then entertaining with the whole unmafia thing. If I thought a replacement could be found I would ask for one too.

I'm going to put some of the blame on the players personally. Hard to make a good game if ony 4-8 people are going to consistently participate. Also vio you walked into the thread twice today but despite citing that there were several good cases, the fact that there has been some suspicion thrown your way and being asked to comment on those cases you only have interest in why commander's asking to be replaced?
