Ok all, apparenty Vio was unable to change the thread or post the day scene last night as I guess she didn't get a chance. I will post it and you may start this day. Just be understanding that I can't change the player list or the title until she returns. Scene up in a minute.

Day 2 Scene

Postby Talapus on Wed Jun 01, 2011 11:53 am

Day 2 Scene

Having fallen asleep mid afternoon, many guests awoke late in the night and made their way to the kitchen. Surprised to find nearly everyone there! With the lack of sleep from the night before and the heavy food and ample liquor at lunch, many, if not all the guests had wondered into the kitchen this late hour as they were famished. Although quite content in their awkward silence, Wadsworth decided he needed to speak up and say what on his mind.

“I know Miss Scarlet did not kill Mr. Black last night.”

Surprised by this revelation, many guests turned with a questioning glance towards Wadsworth while Mr. Boddy just stared in silence at him.

“I know because I was unable to sleep last night. Lying in my bed I heard a door open down the hallway and got up to peek outside and investigate. I then saw Miss Scarlet leave Mr. Boddy’s room and return to her own. So, I know it couldn’t have been her that committed the murder.”

“Yes,” Mr. Boddy said. “Wadsworth is quite right with that statement. Miss Scarlet was with me only moments before the murder so I too doubt she killed Mr. Black. I hadn’t mentioned it earlier though as Miss Scarlet had less then noble intentions and I assumed you would all be doing me a favor by getting rid of her.”

“BUT WHY?!?” yelled many guests. “Why let us think it was her when it wasn’t?”

“I never said she did it,” stated Mr. Boddy. “I just didn’t correct any of you in thinking she did. You see, Mr. Black was not only my dear friend, but my half brother as well. We inherited this house from our father. He was a miserable old coot though and instead of leaving us a family fortune, he left us this house and hid the money somewhere inside of it. Around $50,000,000 in old war bonds are locked up somewhere in here ready for the taking. All Mr. Black and I ever wanted to do was find it.”

“Alas though, we didn’t trust each other and thought the other would find it and take it all. That’s actually why you are all here. I invited you all in hopes of distracting Mr. Black while I searched the house for the bonds. But I never imagined one of you would kill him.”

“Well then, what was Miss Scarlet guilty of?” asked Prof. Plum.

“I’m afraid I’m unsure myself Professor,” said Mr. Boddy.”Had we actually given it more time, Miss Scarlet may have given us clues to who she was here working with. You see, she was in my room last night trying to figure out if I knew where the bonds were hidden. I was so insulted I kicked her out and had hoped to question her today about it, but never got the chance. Many of us here have secrets in our past and given the right amount of time, many of those may come out and get cleared up. But Miss Scarlet took her secrets to the grave and now we’ll never know what all she knew or who she was working with. A shame really as she knew things about a few of the people in this very room, who knows what we would have learned had we let her live.”

“So,” began Mrs. White. “Have you found the bonds yet?”

“No,” said Mr. Boddy. “More importantly we still don’t know who killed Mr. Black and who apparently shot a hole in my wall in the lounge last night. We need to try to figure this all out before police get involved. For now though, I think it’s time for bed. I’m too distracted over today’s loss of Miss Scarlet and I'm just not sure what all we could have learned from her. So good night all, I will see you in the morning.”

With that Mr. Boddy left to head upstairs. At that moment all the guests were looking quietly around at one another all thinking the same things:

Who killed Mr. Black?

Which one of you shot a gun in the lounge?

Who framed Miss Scarlet?

And where is the $50,000,000 in bonds?

As the guests continued to think these thoughts they made their way up to their rooms. But no one was planning on sleeping. Throughout the night, guests came and went through the house looking for clues to all these unanswered questions.

Thinking that she could find the bonds on her own, Mrs.White decided to start looking in the kitchen for clues left behind from Mr. Black's murder. On her way there though she heard a strange noise...

*Thwack*

*Thump*

*gurgle, gurgle*

Coming around the corner towards the kitchen she happened to bump into Ms. Ho and let out a shriek.

"AIEEEEEEEEHHHH! Oh, it’s you. You startled me. I thought I heard a noise and came to check it out." Mrs. White said.

"I too heard a noise; it sounded like it came from the study. Are others still up in the kitchen? We should grab a few if they are and investigate." said Ms. Ho.

As they came around the door though and entered the kitchen they both realized there was no one else in there besides them. However, they also noticed the limp, dead body of Mr. Green lying in the middle of the floor, surrounded in a pool of blood.

Pyrhhus - Mr. Green
- Town has been murdered.

Oddly though, there was no murder weapon to be found. It almost seemed like someone dragged his body in here as a trail of blood was leading up to his body from the far back wall. Frightened for their lives both women let out a shriek and dashed up stairs to let the others know.

Before they could finish getting everyone up and organized though, a blood curdling scream echoed through the hallways.

All the guests rushed downstairs to see what had happened and before long they discovered the source of the terrified scream. On the floor of the Conservatory was the body of David Bill. Most guests didn't recognize him, but a few who had gotten to talking to him during the party found out he was one guest that was not invited. Shocked by this heinous act, people began to question one another as to the motive of this kill.

"Who was he?"

"Isn't that the drifter that wondered in here during the party?"

"Where had he been sleeping?"

"Disgusting, he smells. Homeless or not you'd think you'd have the decency to bathe. Vagrancy is such a turnoff in a man."

David Bill – Commander9 - third party/town has been murdered.

Mr. Boddy held up a lead pipe and said, "I found this next to him. I think it was used to kill him."

"This is insanity," cried Prof. Plum. "Someone is killing us off and it seems to be happening every time we get together. I suggest we all go back to our rooms and lock the doors until morning comes and we can properly search the manor for clues. We need to know who is doing this."

With slight nods and murmurs of agreement, the other guests thought that was the best course of action. So, everyone headed back upstairs to lock themselves in there room until morning arrived.

However, with the dawn of a new day, no one felt safe or any more informed of the strange events happening in this house.

The day has started, time to mingle.

Well every cellar card has been drawn. Let's wait for someone to claim what is wrong with Col. Mustard. Who has that card? You can also pipe up now. Or, if you have a card on anyone who already claimed, feel free to share. No sharing info on someone who hasn't yet claimed.

I'm extremely sorry. It looks like Anarkist claimed inside a spoiler and I probably missed that because I thought his spoiler was the original one so I didn't check it because I thought I'd be rereading. Again, I'm sorry. Yes, Mass is next in line.

I also have a big post to make later (I hope I can do it in about 6 hours real time), but it's essentially a post of questions, not answers. :(

Here's the latest name list:

show: Player List

I'm a little nervous to see third party from commander9, but it doesn't look to be cult-related so my guess is it's probably a survivor type role. In the meantime, I say we keep going with what's been working so far and keep at the name claims. Also, I suggest if anyone has anything interesting to report from your investigation to share it. I can't see it doing us any harm to have that info out in the open.

Well David Bill was in the kitchen before he got offed. He was stuffing his pockets with donuts. Also, I think the "thwack' "thump" and "gurgle" was from either Ms. Ho, Miss Peach or Debra Hill hitting Mr. Green with the candlestick. Those are the fingerprints on the candlestick. Now to take yall back a notch, my cellar card said Miss Peach is guilty and I just found her fingerprints on the candlestick.... hmmmm

Interesting timing...but I am Debra Hill. Can't explain why prints are on the candlestick...unless of course it is dark. Since there are multiple prints on it...it seems likely. Seems that Miss Peach is the leading suspect.

Don't give away information about if people are guilty until that name is called. Otherwise, people can just fake nameclaim. If you have a guilty cellar card, or even an innocent one - do NOT REVEAL until you hear the name.

Here's the post I promised. As I said before, it's a post of doubts, not certainties.

1 - Don't hold your breath while waiting for Miss Peach's claim. Daze has already incriminated her enough for the player to know he can't claim. Besides, now that Commander's and Mass' characters are known (David Bill, Debra Hill - wtf?), fake claiming becomes extremely easy, much like Edocsil predicted (props to you, sir).

edocsil wrote:
DoomYoshi wrote:There are less than 30 characters in the clue universe. How is making fakeclaims easy at all?

If I understand properly there are more players then roles. Some must be made up. Makes fakes easy if they can be pulled out of ass.

Now, I don't know if there are more characters or players (Yoshi disputed this), but the fact is that claims can indeed be made up with ease.

"But, Rodion, if we can claim all 20 cards we'll eventually know which characters are in the game and which were made up."

There's just one problem. We will NEVER get to know all 20 cards. Pyrhhus' card is lost forever. Commander's too. Besides, the mafia(s) must have a decent ammount of cards and they can refuse to confirm "weird" names just to make the person look like a liar ("but I really AM Winston Churchill, town, how come nobody is going to confirm by showing my card?!")

The light in the end of the tunnel here is that we can get names through regular investigations, so hopefully we can still tell a fake claim from a correct one, but that's not granted.

For all that I said until now, FOS Tonka for the speed hammer.

2 - 2 NKs last night (and 2 NK attempts the night before) means we're dealing with:

a) 2 mafias
b) mafia + dumb vigilante
c) mafia + SK

N1 flavour says Miss Scarlet did not kill Mr. Black. The flavour sort of acquits her. "Who framed Miss Scarlet" is a question in the flavour.

So, do we accept that she was framed?

Let's see: I don't believe that the mod/flavour would downright lie to us. If they said Miss Scarlet didn't kill Mr. Black, I'll believe it.

Does that mean that she was not mafia, though?

There can possibly be 2 mafias. If she didn't kill Mr. Black, it's possible that she's part of the second mafia (the one that attempted to kill Wadsworth). That means she would still be guilty. She could, in fact, be part of the very mafia that killed Mr. Black, since only 1 member actually makes the kill and it's possible that she wasn't the one chosen by the godfather (if there is one). That means she would still be guilty.

Accepting the possibility that Miss Scarlet was framed means we accept the possibility that the cellar cards are not entirely accurate (and that's a shitfest) OR the possibility that Victor (The Chief) lied about her cellar card and got pretty lucky that she indeed flipped mafia (or both: perhaps he took her innocent card on N0 and then decided to frame her, knowing that nobody else would be able to assert her innocence as he was the one holding her card).

That considered, I'd LIKE to think that she wasn't framed (or that whoever framed her happened to frame someone that was already guilty) and indeed is mafia, but I can't be completely sure about that. There can be, however, a framer out there (there were 3 fingerprints on the candlestick according to Daze). I'd LIKE to think, however, that he's not powerful enough to alter the result of the cards.

Yesterday, I thought that those cellar cards would lead us to an easy victory through massclaiming; today, not so sure anymore. :(

If anyone has information that can shed some light on any of the doubts I've mentioned, I'd be extremely glad to hear them.

You are very correct that we lost information from cards. However, if somebody claims a name and not a single of the room or weapon cards, or the scenes, or any of the remaining cellar cards, it is still enough to predict that people are using fakenames. I am not sure about the whole Debra name. I think that is very possibly the result of Night Communication. Unless anyone else also investigated the candlestick? Until then, my vote stays on Mass Miracle.
