How immature. You're taking this freaking game personally, and if you don't see that THAT is the problem here, I guess you have a lot of growing up to do.

I'm getting pissy because I get enough of this faulty logic and these catch-22's in real life. I love arguing (that's why I go online), but when logic is replaced by a mentality of fear, the game isn't fun anymore; it's too realistic. Besides, I shouldn't be wasting all this time online in any case.

I didn't mean to act like I'm taking this personally; I'm not. But I feel that if I'm spending vasts amounts of time on something that has zero value, then either it should be fun for me, or I shouldn't be doing that. My decision is based on an evaluation of my priorities.

Thank you all for a fun few months.

EDIT: I just realized something... I got into mafia largely because I really enjoy debating/arguing. But now I've realized that arguing is the biggest thing not to do in a game. I suppose that's my main excuse for leaving.

Dito on day 1 it's not a real good reasonable thing to do as we all really don't know anything. The argueing is very good to have on days 3 and on as we can have a decent amount of evidence that we can introduce into the argument instead of just someone that was randomly bandwagoned. Yes, you're probably dead this game but you shouldn't quit ALL games just b/c in this game you were the one that got boned. I know i've had it happen to me before and just called all of them dumbfucks and moved on. It happens each game is different.

Quoted because F1fth has also 'gotten pissy and quitted mafia over it' :D
Actually, I think I've done the same thing..several times. So Frankly I'm not sure whether Dito is absolutely serious or if he'll cool off by tomorrow and continue on.

Anyway, I'll start prodding players in the morning.

So are we lynching Dito because he's getting pissed about random votes (form what I can read in this slightly red-tinged state of mine)? I don;'t know whether I should vote or not.

Vote count:
kwan (2) -- Tal, fircoal
ga7 (1) -- kalish
Tal (1) -- mil
mil (1) -- icedagger
ani (1) -- sam
futurerichguy (1) -- illiad
Dito (11) -- flores, mr. i, futurerichguy, danodukebb, AD, ga7, 5th, will, LSU, DRoZ, TWO (Lynch -6)
sam_levi_11 (1) -- nag

Heh, I was half expecting an angsty answer but boy was I served.
Dito, you sound like you forgot this is a game. If you take things too seriously and personally you won't have fun. Take a break if you need, but I'd just like to point out every game is different, and as LSU said a game with lousy beginning can get REALLY awesome arguing-wise after some days. Additionally the size of the game has often a lot to do with what kind of arguments are put forth, but well the two are linked.

I won't answer in detail this whole block of theory because frankly it bores the f*ck out of me but I think it all boils down to play style. How do you explain some people get weirdly if ever lynched? Or some people getting lynched day 1 3 times in a row when town (NES )? It's not about following a guideline of things to say or not, because there's pretty diverse styles amongst these people. It's mostly about being able to talk your way out of anything. Explain your actions. Counter attack with basis. etc...
Ditocoaf wrote:When you say, "overly defensive" and "grasping at straws" and "backtracking", that's the same as "doing things to try to stop your lynch."

That's the thing, in my opinion the kind of things you did to try to stop your lynch showed increasingly nervousness and desperation. I don't know if you're town or not, but it seems rather odd to me that someone who has nothing to reproach himself would do that.
Now, there's also several "styles" of playing day 1. Random lynch is one of them. Crazy theories à la Mandy is another. Personally more often than not I like to play it confrontational, grab something and fish, put the 1000W lamp on someone, go spanish inquisition on their asses, get a slipup out of their scummy consciousness. All in good fun of course, though sometimes as now it doesn't go so well :P Thing is, I don't know if you're town or not but as long as I can put an argument against someone I will, up to them if they call me out on it being silly or whatever, that's also arguing. All in all I think the things can be much more diverse, complex and fun than you make them sound in your proposal.

Btw, starting at night sucks for the poor f*ck who gets NKed systematically before even saying a word

Anyway closing the parenthesis and back to the game. Err... Yeah, I kinda agree with William. Dito lynch is still good.

Dito I think you need to chill out a bit. You've gotta remember it's just a game, and if you're not enjoying it a break would probably do you good. I got lynched day one all the time when I first started playing.. attack is sometimes the best form of defense in those situations, you need to give people someone else to lynch since most are much too lazy to look for themselves when there's a nice easy target :)

Lol, I would not do that to be honest because he could be vanilla, so you could absorb no power at all and lose your action which would be bad >.>

It's basically once every day/night cycle, and not doable on consecutive day/night cycles. Basically, by turn 6 I could have 3 powers and 3 votes. NOmnomnom.

So a military technician goes to work on a firing range. He's given a rifle and some rounds, and he starts to fire at the target. When he's done, the report comes back that he's missed every single time.
The technician looks at his rifle, looks at the target. Rifle. Target. Rifle. Target. Finally, he puts a finger in front of the rifle and fires a shot, blowing his finger off.
He looks towards the target and yells 'Well, it's leaving here fine, the problem must be on your end!'
