If he was a power role, he wouldn't mention he's at L-3. Also,
jak111 wrote:If you want a claim from me I guess only one more vote is needed (This is a small game, so joke votes should be limited boys).
if he was a power role he wouldn't be willing to claim off two jokevotes and one bandwagon vote therefore, I think jak is NOT a power role. Leaving 2 circumstances, a) he is scum or b) he is VT. a) is a very desired lynch and b) is definitely not WCS.

I already have my vote on jak, so it is a shame I can't round the post off, with saying vote jak

I assumed Jak was joking when he said he would claim early. Now I think he might have referred to nameclaiming. Anyone can claim VT whenever they want, though. I won't be highly surprised if they do, since it's C9. Besides, in any case this discussion seems to be held at the beginning of every game by the same people, and I find its significance dubious.

I found it slightly scummy that Jak is outlining how many claims he is expecting and whatnot, even though this is uninteresting (and, no offence, rather irrelevant) info, but afaik he does it in every game as well so my suspicions are not seriously raised.

Jonty's negative attitude towards Jak's contributions seems odd to me, it doesn't seem very rational. I am inclined to vote for him.

Why would you assume that? Jak's recent posts have been quite serious. We have already discussed nameclaiming and decided against it.

Things in mafia don't have to be interesting; but I do agree it is SLIGHTLY irrelevant.

i think that jak is very much out of character, and i think we have a decent case on him, and by jonty's logic, no good reason NOT to lynch him. i also wonder why jak wants me to claim... he didnt give a reason, and seems to want people to claim, which will only help scum.

Well, there are two people I want confirmation from to claim if I must. I'm pretty sure Mr.Squirrel picked up on it and maybe Aage did as well, they are the veterans here so I hope they caught on.

Should I claim it, or should I leave it in the dust for now? This is my gambit for the veterans to catch it.

Well, you're probably interpreting me correctly then. Meh.. I'm me. I knew it wasn't going to be long before my mouth got me in trouble in a small game. But for 2 nos I will keep my mouth shut about it.

Though. I may have a bit of break down on town. Since the two of you most likely know who I am, and you didn't make some BS excuse to try and drop the hammer, I am willing to bet you're town. Narrowing my list to 4 people (2 of which are most likely mafia). So in my opinion my gambit was well worth it.

I think this discussion will grow stale soon, I'll vote Jonty for the sake of some movement. Look to previous posts for reasons.

Read it again. I said that neither of you TRIED to drop the hammer. If either of you voted me, all it would require is a single scum to hammer me or a trigger itchy townie.

I seriously doubt, anybody would hammer you without a claim and a good debate. Unless they were queueing up for the chopping block.

In this set up, I wouldn't be surprised if mafia were willing to throw one of their own away to take a few townies with him. With this set up, he'd be able to take himself, me, and another tonight with him, leaving 3 players (since the next day would be spent lynching him and the following night someone else would die) Leaving no room for error.

Yea there's two scum. I'm gonna WIFOM and OMGUS here and Vote Vodean (Also, how can you add a FOS when your vote is already on me? That sounds like a bit "Let's get pressure on a townie and away from me" sort of deal.

Also, I am assuming my last minute plan worked and that one of the two scum is on my BW. Since you're the last of the two to vote (Maybe hoping for some momentum so you and your scummate can hide in the BW?) I'm going to guess that because of the reason in brackets you may be scum. All I know is that if you were to really kill me off Vodean, you'd only be able to afford 1 mislynch or two no lynches (Well, that's sort of a lie, since killing me would be your mislynch, making tomorrow and the next days kills mandatory).

If we no lynch today, we may lose the luxary of being able to afford a mislynch, however, if we lynch today, we lose being able to no lynch or mislynch in the future. I'm hoping town has the 1st set up of the game instead of the 3rd. Otherwise, we may go into a LYLO without a knowledge on who's town.

im still for no-lynching because if we no lynch today, no-lynch tomorrow, we will have an almost guaranteed mafia lynch the next day. plus the doctor could help us a lot. thats assuming we have a doctor. plus if there is a cop they could help us a lot too.

But with that we have to lynch scum on D3 AND D4, and if we decide to do that, what can we discuss for the rest of today and D2. With your strategy we have a 40% chance of lynching scum on D3 (3 v 2), and on D4 it will be 2 v 1, were we MUST LYNCH SCUM that has a 66% chance giving a total of (0.4*(2/3)) = 26.6%. Of course, this assumes we don't have a cop and NO doc saves.

I have no idea what the percentages are for the other scenarios but 26.6%, isn't exactly reassuring.

Are you saying I get 2 votes :-s

What I'm HOPING for is that we have a cop out there. Then we'd go with 2 no lynches. But if we don't I think a lynch today (So we have a choice in who dies to narrow down the list at least).

Should we risk there being a cop and no lynch?

Actually, no lynch might be our best option. I may be able to open up or close mafia possibilities.

For all of you who are calculating probabilities, it doesn't work that way. This is mafia, not a game of roulette. Every word we type affects those probabilities.

I'd rather go from experience than from probabilities. And in my experience, a no lynch day 1 is usually a bad thing. I'm not sure who I will be voting for yet, but I'm leaning towards vodean currently. I'll try to post something of more substance later tonight.
