It's been a while since I've read the books, but I'm just thinking out loud that this is a big ass game, so i expect multiple killings and some other tricks. A 2nd mafia doesn't fit in with the flavor to me, but anybody smell a cult?

Anyway, are people misunderstanding sarcasm and humour on purpose in this game? Surely, Stor was sarcastic and I'm also quite sure that Pix went for the joke a la "Shaving Ryan's Privates". It seems that that was lost on a fair few people. Or they made jokes that were lost on me perhaps...

The only possible cult I can think of would be The Death Eaters who are also the likely mafia. Of course the mafia could simply consist of Voldemort and the Horcruxes but that seems unlikely.

Assuming the town consists of more than just Harry Potter, we can assume that the mafia consists of more than He Who Must Not Be Named and his horcruxes I think. It seems more logical to me that the mafia roles are actual people, rather than "You're Tom Riddle's diary" - especially assuming that He Who Must Not Be Named is a godfather-y type. There might be some mechanism involving horcruxes and eg. night immunity (maybe we get to destroy one ever day or when we lynch mafia or smth), but we'll probably hear about that later in the scenes. Since we'd need some special item or spell to destroy a horcrux, it seems more logical that the mafia are people rather than horcruxes.


Also you forgot like 90% of the Order in your list of town. Surely, badass Kingsley should be mentioned. Probaby as some protective role. But I'd rather not make a list of all possible roles in the game... rather let the mafia make their own fake claims so they'll be easier to catch.

Doh! I read it, but it didn't seem to provide any useful information, so I quickly forgot it. Then after strike wolf's comment I was too lazy to re-read the thread, so I did a topic search for "Death Eater", but without the 's' on the end, his was the only post that showed up.

Don't agree with last bit though. I think fake claims would be more peripheral characters - ones that could be done without but are also believable as players. Those you mention are surely in play as town already.I would have thought so anyway.

And i have no problem unvoting once he explains his rationale, I just don't find the idea that someone believes there is no 3rd party in a game where night actions include recruitment as particularly inspiring, do you?

Did not catch the zerg/storr voting disparity in the name there. I feel like in this phase of day one a vote gets more of an explanation that someone just saying explain yourself, but to each his own.

Kingsley is a peripheral character. I dont want to play the mod too much but fake claims really would depend on how strong he wanted to make the claims and if he did want to make them strong one or more of them could easily be a fake claim.
