I do think that dlanor is scum, but my case is entirely based on dlanor's actions. I'm just surprised that its not ringing alarm bells for anyone else. Also, I've never heard of a game in which the mod would state the name of a person who is third party or scum in a townperson's role pm, although I can think of plenty of examples where a person would be named in a third party or scum member's pm

Yes, which I why I am curious enough to pressure for a claim rather then considering a easy lynch. If you have plausible half truth I would turn it around 180 to Dlanor and/or Naxus. AS for the bolded bit, IDK where else you have played but I have seen that quite a few times here. Generally something like "don't trust them", not "they are scum" but you get the point. If you don't believe me go look at the Matrix Mafia. Commander was told not to trust me, I am 3rd party, and I assume he is town as there would be little reason for him to call such attention to himself D1 as he did.

Besides games modded by chu or TWO, I agree completely. It basically ruins the game for one player if people already know he is scum before he even begins playing. Giving away someone's alignment in a role pm is something only a bastard mod would do. For this reason, I'm thinking you are town or at worst 3rd party.
jeraado wrote:although I can think of plenty of examples where a person would be named in a third party or scum member's pm

Well, yes and no. Yes, it is far more likely for scum to be told about another player, but if they were I doubt they would advertise it like knox and naxus have. If there was any indication of your role or anything in their pm, they would not be advertising it like this. If you turn town, they are screwed.

Thus, I think this is just some flavor thrown into the game to keep town confused. I don't think we should pursue this as a lead, but its gonna happen anyway....

So naxus also has a role pm that says don't trust jeraado? Two people saying they don't trust him is enough for me.

Mr. S I totally agree that if their ALIGNMENT was given in a role it would be broken. TRUST is another matter entirely. I assume he is not town, whether or not he is a threat to the town is what I want to see.

I'd love to be able to tell you that there is some kind of plausible explanation, but I can't think of one. The only thing I could offer is that it could be flavour. After all, my role flavour says that some people blame me for the apocalypse, but it has nothing to do with my role (unless it is some joke that I totally don't get).

This was all talked about on day 1, so shouldn't be coming as a surprise. We talked about the possibility of fuzzy (now dlanor) being a lyncher, but otherwise the conversation didn't go far.

I'm thinking the Jeraado situation is a story ploy for Commander, as in if we lynch him then x happens, if not then y happens, he can then post a nice scene. Also imo it doesn't seem cool that you guys would jump all over jeraado for just the backstory. As much as I disagree with Knox that flavor speculation is terrible (I like it, it adds some more dimension, flawed though it may be), using just that as a reason to vote for him is lame. FOS Edoc and Saf.

Another FOS goes out to naxus. Too defensive of Streaker.

aaaaaah. I just googled my character name. Now my role flavour makes sense.

I can't give you my name, as I am named after a real person, and I'm pretty sure if you knew my occupation you might figure out my role. The fact that people hate me is based on my real-life character. Its not hate, hate (I'm not Osama bin Laden or Phil Collins), but I'm not a very popular person.

This is retarded. Why would you lynch him? Commander would not have told two townies who scum was in their role pm. Any mod who does that either hates the player (which I doubt in this case) or is purposely trying to make the game screwy.

I want your opinion edocsil. What possible justification could you have for thinking he is scum? I know I'm probably gonna be painted as his scumbuddy now, but honestly if he came up scum at this point, I would eat my hat.

Is anybody else worried by Violet's PR thing?

i'm worried she'll basically use it as a pass to contribute completely nothing for the rest of the game and yet avoid suspicion, cause "she has a PR".

Violet can you clarify your PR a bit? Are you able to make normal posts and have just gotten a bit carried away in your last couple of posts?

I don't think he is scum (as in the mafia), I think he is a third party whose win condition could be counterproductive to the towns. Hell in the matrix mafia I was nearly lynched when one person claimed they didn't trust me. When I was sufficiently pressured I claimed, as I and the town had little to fear of each other. His extreme reluctance to claim makes me suspicious, as those who are most likely afraid of a claim are cops docs and those harmful to the town. I really can't see a mod telling us not to trust our cop/doc so option 3 seems the most readily apparent.

Why would I claim now? If I claimed with two votes on me you would immediately say that it was too quick and probably fake. Your rationale seems to be that a mod wouldn't give a warning, which is probably flavour, about a doc or cop but would about a serial killer or third party? That can't make sense.

Where is my 'extreme reluctance to claim'? Do you mean now when I am l-6? When the case against me was created by someone who I believe to be scummy (who incidentally created the panic but then didn't vote for me)? C'mon now

Also, if I were scum I wouldn't have pushed the campin lynch, rather than trying to slow it, so I could win some trust with the town. If I were serial killer I wouldn't have volunteered the extra speculation about my role (at least certainly not on day 1) for fear of giving away something which would reveal me. Other third party roles? I suppose there could be a survivor (although that would seem somewhat ironic in post-apocalyptic mafia) but that wouldn't be much of a threat, we've already had at least one recruiter (christians) and possibly another (werewolves) so that would seem unlikely.

I know that this a bit defensive against so few votes, but I really want to move on so we can look at some of the interesting topics of discussion.

You are of course right. I would be poor form for you to claim at L-5 right now. I am trying to narrow that gap a bit because I really do believe you are a threat.
